Hard-Baughlls

Both statistics and they eye test would back this up.

The OSU game wasa travesty and the officiating was an insult to the integrity of the game.

UM played 1 poor game all year...a night game at Iowa that could have gone either way, but that is a loss we deserved.  A 1 point loss to a fringe top 25 team on the road is not a horrible loss.

Then losing on the road in double OT, playing your biggest rival and the refs in a classic.

Vegas knows, everybody football purist knows, and every unbiased knowledgable football fan knows that UM would give Bama the best game based on talent and system.

All that said, I have no idea how this plays out with the CFP, and I don't think we are as good as Bama.  Could we upset them, sure, but they are a complete team.  I think USC is playing really well too, but 3 losses and the early blowout loss to Bama really can't be overlooked.

IMO....

1) Bama

.

.

2) UM

3) OSU

.

.

.

.

4) USC, Clemson, Wisconsin, Wasington

Except for Kev I was more than surprised when I heard what Finebaum had to say on 3 seperate programs.

If you watch/listen to a lot of ESPN (I'm not proud of my habits), it's obvious after the OSU game which talking heads clearly have a permanent dislike and negative bias  towards Michigan.

Three of the more intellectual talking heads on ESPN all said we got jobbed to some extent and/or were in high support/priase for us in the playoff this entire week, ranking in order

1. Kornheiser

2. Finebaum

3. Greenberg

Wilbon did it again on Tues or Weds also... Again Kornheiser had our back and immediately rebuttled all of his asinine comments with 'YOU HATE MICHIGAN'  and it's inhibitiing your ability to actually do your job correctly right now...

Wilbon has grown to be a pompous arrogant asshole. Kornehieser calls him out constantly. Not to mention, Kornheiser has been a pretty vocal supporter of Michigan and Harbaugh and I don't care what you think of his opinions, but he is no doubt intelligent.

Wilbon hates on Harbaugh despite being a die-hard Bears fan and the fact he and Harbaugh both love the Cubs.

Wilbon is the biggest non OSU/MSU Michigan Hater I know of... does anyone know why?!

It's pretty clear that Michigan and Ohio State are the two best teams in the Big Ten. If they take two teams from the Big Ten, there's no reason it shouldn't be Michigan and Ohio State.

That's what I'm hoping for. Even if Wisconsin or PSU played their best game, I do not see either of them being able to hang around with Alabama for more than a half.

If Michigan doesn't make it, then so be it. We had our chances, and I have no sour grapes about that. But don't put Wisconsin or PSU in just because they won the conference. Neither of them are the best team in the conference by any stretch, and it would be a slap in the face to a team that is decisively better than both of them, and beat both of them head to head. One of which was a whoopin' of epic proportions. The winner deserves to make the Rose Bowl before we do, but not the playoff.

If you're going to slot two B1G teams in, give Michigan a chance. The committee has to know deep down that we're better than both of them, would provide better matchups, better ratings, and if absolutely nothing else, better headlines. The Saban-Harbaugh matchup chatter for the next month would be ridiculous.

Colorado beats Washington in a close game tonight, and Michigan fans are giddily celebrating being in the playoffs. Then tomorrow night, Penn State beats Wisconsin 45-3, and the committee puts James Freaking Franklin—who so many here were sneering at as a dead man walking in late September—into the playoffs by a mere handful of points over Michigan.

If you think this is impossible, it's 2016—wildly improbable if not insane things happen with regularity.

The silver lining to that is that PSU would slide to #4, meaning they'd play Alabama. And I would give Penn State approximately a negative 5% chance in that game.

That game would be over by midway through the second quarter. We could all take joy in watching Penn State get absolutely annihilated by Alabama.
