Updated W/L Prediction Thread

Always good to get a win, this reminded me of the Wisconsin game in 2016, a few missed kicks a way from a comfortable win. However, being realistic, no way we beat Penn State in two weeks. Good news is, Notre Dame and maybe Penn State won’t be must wins. Penn State has to play at OSU, at Iowa, and at MSU. OSU still has to go to Wisconsin,  and currently are in a tight one with MSU. I have us 8-3(PSU and Notre Dame losses) going into the final week with a Winner take all game against OSU. This team doesn’t need to make the playoff just beat Ohio State.

8 wins is the absolute ceiling for this team, unless a miracle occurs and they fix the offense to some degree.  ND is going to be a loss.  MSU is kind of a toss up IMO.  PSU and OSU are ugly losses.  So, this means we'll need to beat all of Illinois, Indiana, and Maryland - all road games.  Again, given where we are with the offense, not likely we will all 3.  So, 7 wins is pretty likely right now.  Maybe time to start making reservations for the First Responder Bowl.

I agree OSU looks so talented right now, they will roll through the Big ten and go to the playoff. We probably lose to PSU. I think we can beat MSU pretty easily though and ND to me will be tough but were at home so tht gives us a pretty good chance. So what is that? 9-3 again and no trip to Indy

A part of me thinks this team is destined for a 2017 type of season. But another part of me can't help but have hope for something more, the only reason being the talent we have on offense. Just fucking put it together and the sky is the limit.

It feels like the pieces of the puzzle are there, but they're scattered around the room with a drunk chimpanzee tasked with putting it together.

The offense is so disjointed and unimaginative that I fail to see how they're going to outscore PSU, ND, MSU or OSU.  I really fail to see 8 wins at this point, 7-5 is the baseline for me.

It looks like the coaches don't have a game plan to attack the opponents weakness.  Feels like they want to do what they want to do,  impose their will.   Clearly the QB position and the o-line are lacking any consistency to do so.

I hate mentioning this, or making this comparison, but the more I watch this team the more I’m reminded of the Weiss teams at ND. Remember when they had NFL talent all over the field on offense yet still managed to suck? Michael Floyd, Golden Tate, Rudolph, Kamara, Jimmy Clausen, Robert Hughes, and a few other top 100 guys.

Yeah, that’s us this year. Collins, DPJ, and Black are all top 3 round NFL talents, Charbonnet has potential to be one eventually, Eubanks/McKeon one of them or both may get drafted in the late rounds, Ruiz, Bredeson, and Jansen will get drafted, and possibly Onwenu...yet this is the product we get to watch against good teams? Less than 275 total yards? It’s honestly baffling watching this amount of ineptitude every Saturday.

I'm curious as to why people think penn state is unbeatable?  Harbaugh sucks on the road but penn state hasn't played anyone the entire year..

When they lose to iowa next week it will be interesting  to see the hot takes next week

Because it’s clear that there are lots of trolls on here.  I would say about a third of the doom and gloom crowd are fans of other teams and are just having fun.  We won the game today against a quality opponent — a game most people on here said we would lose — and a majority of the posts on here are pissed off.  Strange.

People are pissed off because of the disjointed awful offense on the field. It’s obviously not getting better.

Many fans considered this team to have a lot of talent. A lot of talent that’s probably leaving after this year. We haven’t done anything with it.

Defense has been improving and played their asses off today. Gattis should be fucking embarrassed.

I’m curious what talent is leaving voluntarily after this season? Some guys have talent, but they aren’t putting together hype or much film that will warrant early round draft picks. Transferring? With little eligibility left seems like a big risk for some of these guys.

Im just getting tired of the “talent is all going to leave voluntarily” argument. I’m not in the locker room, but the players seemed pretty happy to win a hard fought game today.

The team grinds to a 9-4 record. The problem is that it will be just that, a grind. And it will feel like 7-6 or something like that.

It's hard to have faith that we'll win all the games we should (Ill, Mary, & Ind) and at least one of the ones we could (MSU, ND, PSU, & OSU).  Patterson plays well when he has time.  Unfortunately pass pro is not our forte.  The best d-lines we play won't give him time.  Can the defense hold serve long enough or can we score enough to beat those teams?  I doubt it.  MSU is the swing game.  Gotta find a way to block Willekes & Williams and put Bache in conflict with the RPO.  At least in that one the defense is likely to keep MSU under 17 pts.  Can we score 17 against them?

8 and 4.  Lose to Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Penn State.  Beat Michigan State, Illinois, Maryland, and Indiana.

I could see Michigan beating Notre Dame.  Highly unlikely they beat Penn State on the road, and I'll never believe they can beat Ohio State until it actually happens.

Also don't care about the bowl game.  Doesn't matter to me.

No change in mine 9-3-Lose to PSU & OSU

Beat ND, MSU and everyone else.

Look-can we all agree on two things?

1. THAT offense is putrid and worse than we ever imagined.

2. But THAT defense is way, way better than we ever thought it could be.

Gattis might have learned nothing this year but Don Brown sure as hell went to school.

OSU looking mortal tonight and the MSU game will probably look exactly like today's game did.

Still no idea what our team is. We could win the rest of our games or lose 5 more.

7-5. Maaaaybe 8-4.

Wins against Maryland, Illinois and Indiana. But after today I don’t know how you can possibly think we beat PSU, ND or even stay within striking distance of OSU. If nothing on offense changes I think Michigan gets its clock cleaned by all of them. MSU is a tossup because of their garbage offense, but I’m betting Harbaugh gets out-coached by Dantonio in that game and loses an ugly 17-10 kind of game.

Win against Illinois and Maryland. If Indiana has a healthy Penix, which everybody wants one of those, that game is going to be a struggle.

Unless some miracle happens.

I see losses to psu osu n.d. And msu is looking like a lose with our offense. Indiana scares me being at I.u. 6-6 is not out of the question unless our offense figures something out. The defense can’t hold up forever.

7-5. OSU and @PSU seem like almost guaranteed losses. MSU and ND seem like toss-ups maybe leaning towards L's. Indiana will be tough too. Thinking we lose 2/3 to MSU, ND, and Indiana.

Although we haven't looked great while breaking in the new offense, I think people are underestimating how good Wisconsin is this year. They seem to actually be legit.
