However, they cant have anyone working on these projects and the football uniform projects... The new basketball uniforms yesterday look fantastic.
I'll accept that they're cool in that arena but we're talking athletic gear vs lifestyle gear. Those are two very different things.
Adidas Soccer gear is very cool, but only in that arena. In the two sports that matter most to college athletics in this country(basketball and football) it is not in the same tier as Nike/Jordan.
I guess not.
But then again, so did Michigan.

At least Nebraska has the Blackshirts legend to justify the uniform color. But if that's the justification, then only the defense should wear black.
Bottom line: I've seen worse. These unis aren't my cup of tea, but my eyes have been scorched by more horrible sights on the gridiron.
Yeah. But part of what made the blackshirts thing cool was that the team never actually wore, you know, black shirts.
Plus, part of it was that you had to earn your black shirt. Now the whole team gets them, earned or not. And the offense gets to wear them too, I presume.
I've with you on this point. Believe me. But at least there is some traditional connection with the actual color black for Nebraska (for at least half the team). It's admittedly a tenuous connection, and one that was probably not used to create the black alternate unis. I think this combo of red and black just doesn't work, and the fishnet markings are way too busy for my taste. Let's call it what it is...a bald attempt to get Nebraska fans to shell out $$$$ for another jersey to wear while husking corn.
While many of us may find these unpalatable, Nebraska has had a very traditional (aka boring) look for a long time. They are at least trying to come into the 21st century and bring some excitement to their program as to these young kids today the look is still an important thing, unless they are Alabama caliber talent and will happily put up with their traditional look.

As for the rest of it, it's very un-Nebraska to me. Very little of the tradition and the simplicity remains into those alternates.

This goes for Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Alabama, etc.
The big 20 is Sunday for me so I'm the age of the players that will be wearing them, and they could have done something more normal looking.
If they did solid black, that'd look fine.

... to actually judge the uniforms on their own because of the absolutely horrible backgrounds on these addidas images. It's like they hired Dave Brandons visual designer.
Good: (1) The background isn't giving me a seizure, unlike other Adidas reveals lately (2) kinda looks like tire tracks, so fans won't notice when their team gets run over (3) the gloves are kinda cool I guess

While I do think these are hideous, I think Nebraska is just trying to stand out a little bit. There are a ridiculous number of teams with red and white as colors. Only the hardcore football fans can distinguish between red, crimson, and scarlett. Luckily for us, the only remotely close jerseys to ours are WVU and Cal, and they suck lol
My wife is a Husker - all her corn people LOVE these!

Need I remind all the adidas haterz that Nike first came out with this "tread" look for Oregon oh about TEN years ago?
They had to do something so that those teams didn't realize they effed up and gave them almost the exact same uniform for their normal uni's.
Which is hilarious because these are just opposites like the normal uni's were. Haha, oh adidas your so silly.
These were their alternates last year. They're very similiar to 2015s but with inverse colors and a little more prominent tiretracks. Same split numbers.
