Granted, I don’t watch a lot of hockey, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen kneeing called before. To me, it looked like the ND player realized his teammate was way offside so he skated into the Michigan defender and flopped.
I guess that’s good strategy, but seems weak. It’s like in soccer when the player enters the box and immediately flops trying to draw a PK. Seriously, if I played soccer, if I ever entered the box with the ball, I would immediately try to aim for a defender’s hand to get the PK. Sometimes the penalty is way worse than the infraction. This almost was one of those. Fortunately we killed the penalty.
