MSU is going to wind up paying more in damages, lawyers and so forth than the remainder of his contract.  May still be worth it for them if they can find the right guy.  Sadly, they had no choice to do what they did but they are going to payout a huge sum.

your bpone is getting to you.  no way they are going to pay anywhere near the $70MM in total fees and any contract buy-out.  tuck is slam-dunk 'guilty' of breaching the moral turpitude section of his contract.  he'll get something, not nothing and any of us would consider it a big deal especially if one of us got a 7 figure payout, but i highly doubt it'll even touch 8 figures.

only if the employment contract calls for it, and that is highly unlikely.

in general our country lives under what is called the 'american rule', which means that each side pays for its own lawyer in the absence of specific statutes that say otherwise.  we call those 'fee shifting' statutes.  some common examples of fee shifting statutes are things like some civil rights causes of action, whistle blower actions and, for instance in the state of michigan, construction lien actions.

It will be interesting if there is a bunch of incriminating communication that nobody wants to have exposed. This has the potential to get really ugly but also would not surprise me when Mel quietly goes way with a pretty big check.

Actually sort of logical. The earlier response to the intent to dismiss letter suggested that the situation will be carried out in a very public way.

I agree. I wonder if they'll question whether simply speaking at MSU and being a guest at the spring game counts as being a true MSU vendor or Mel even having a position of power over her and her financial success, etc.  She's a well known speaker who worked with many colleges, NFL, ESPN, Politico and others. Given the 27 phone calls and exchange of gifts, the relationship whether personal, professional or both was mutual at least for some period of time until the infamous phone call. I don't think you can fire someone for cause for just being a piece of shit so they have to attribute it to something and it seems like that's where the lawyers would aim their defense.

To think this program is going to be back in 2/3 years is really the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard. The biggest window of opportunity was when Tucker started in 2020.

Think about it.

This program is celebrating the termination of the “bad contract” as if it wasn’t Msu who gave him a bad contract.

I mean, these sorts of letters are attached to settlement demands all the time, right? This just seems to be the official entry of this drama into the nebulous world of seemingly interminable litigation.

Well, we all know how well msu preserves incriminating records. This should be, well...yawn. What time does Slipery Rock play? Anyone want to make fake dating profiles for Mel Tugger? Could be mgofun.

I don't see a date on that letter and something tells me she is likely a day or to late to save the important stuff.... Let the shit slinging commence and lets see what sticks!
