I know this has all spiralled out of control but it's worth remembering the worst possible violation here is decoding signs of another team at a game.  That's it.  Of all the violations we've heard and seen occur around college football, that's the absolute worst case framing here based on what we've heard.

And so now Stalions's college coaching career is done, his name is likely going to be toxic for a lot of employees for years, this will be the first page of search results him for the rest of his life.  And assholes like DJ Durkin, Brian Kelly, Hugh Freeze, Urban Meyer, etc. are all either making tons of money coaching football, talking about football, or in Mel Tucker's case doing nothing related to football with seemingly no long-term repercussions.  Stalions isn't a hero but he sure as shit doesn't deserve the villain treatment he's got over these past two weeks.

Got this from the Edge of the Internet, from a supposed insider:

On recommendation of a board member I am posting this here because I can not keep up with the DM's. That was a brain fart on my part. Editing the original post as well.

I'm gonna be waiting for Sam just like you guys but a few things I can say.

1) Stallions resigned, and he is no longer required to "stay quiet".....I am told he is still all Blue and won't be singing anything bad to anyone. Hasn't even cooperated yet. But leaks may come out or he may sing praises of Harbaugh and company. At least that is the plan.....
"He is gonna do some favors for Michigan. The opposite could still happen but don't expect that."

2) No damning or new evidence presented. "Not sure where you got that." "I'll be as surprised as you."
Other person: "Rumors that it can be linked that 1 or all 3 of Minter, Jay Harbaugh, and Partridge knew what Stallions was doing. But very unsubstantiated rumors right now."

3) Commissioner wanted 2 game suspension for Harbaugh to be handed down by the university. Ono kindly told Petitti no and to leave. "Why would we do that given the allegations, evidence, and due process? This conversation is over."

4) It's clear Petitti came in with "blood in his mouth." Doesn't want "Michigan to suffer but does want Harbaugh to suffer." Had the backing of other Presidents and ADs apparently.
Clarify-Blood in mouth means he was angry and disturbed and was clearly motivated by others.

5) Michigan is lawyering up. Expect a fight. Phone calls gonna be made.

Update:
Petitti is actually more level headed than some others in the conference. Lots of angry folks who want Harbaugh gone for someone on his staff speeding 5mph over. Petitti is feeling it but he is a lawyer too. So wait and see next moves now. Michigan isn't gonna sit with its hands tied.

My recommendation once again is to email Santa Ono and regents to show support for Harbaugh and to fight this thing. Also, contact the state attorney general if you can. The emailing part is all me. My recommendation just knowing how these things play out.

Conner (I know you are listening):

I'd hire you if I had a company.

If you need something to do in your newly found downtime, may I suggest you start doing some counter intel on our enemies. Find out dirt on Day and his snitching siblings. Create intel on our new P12 opponents.

You mission is not complete.

- MgoLegion

PS Can we create a gofundme for this man to continue his mission?

If so, suspend them. That was the outcome in the Baylor case. Unless the big ten wants to invoke a rule that doesn’t actually exist for the big ten and say the head coach takes fault regardless (ncaa does have this rule), then this is still a nothing without direct link to Harbaugh.
regardless, it seems good that they just want the coach or coaches and not the team. We’re good enough to play through this and there is no way the first 8 games of the year are “tainted” by this.

Meanwhile at 11W:

SHOULD B1G FANS BOYCOTT FOX TO PUT PRESSURE ON PETTINI TO TAKE ACTION?

Soft coach. Soft team. Soft fans.

Sorry, you might just have to try and win on the field.

Conner Stalions...if you are out there, I have two 50 yard line seats for the OSU-Rutgers game with your name on them.  All you need to do is use your iPhone to record OSU's signals and then post them to YouTube

Out of curiosity how did the Big Ten have all this additional intel and information that neither Michigan nor the NCAA had when they haven’t launched an investigation and weren’t planning to until they got bombarded with the pitchfork mob on Wednesday?

It’s almost like the folks on the coaches conference call had previously unknown intel on this

...Quickly before I get "True Staged"

The Purdue Coach's comments indicate to me that Purdue - and likely several other schools - have gone back and found records of Conor buying tickets to THEIR games.  They have looked back at game footage and see people in those seats filming sidelines.  This would be enough to piss me off if I was a rival school and call for punishment.

What you have not (yet) seen is anyone come forward with claims that Conor or any M staffer was involved in the filming - which would actually constitute the breaking of the rules that could be used to try to show-cause Harbaugh under the new rules.

TLDR - I think even those that were OK with the sign-stealing concept at the outset got pissed when they realized the scope of Conor's operation and/or that it involved them.

Let anyone who has evidence to the contrary come forward immediately.

The OSU sites have all been deliberately using the damning pronoun "they" and "Michigan" while whatever they are saying should be specifically about "he" and Stalions.
