If Speight is 100% I would love to see him back and starting against OSU. I know he was struggling before the injury, but he's the best QB on the team right now.

means he's getting healthy and means we should probably have him for 2018. Despite his poor play, I think it's apparent why he's the starter at this point.

Admire Speight for his toughness, but if he's starting next year, program is in for another "retooling" year.  If he's back, hopefully it's as a vet mentor to next year's starter, Dylan McCaffery. Game day says it all, which young QB is next to Harbaugh?  Have good feeling Peters is someplace else next year, can't beat out O'Korn, isn't going to beat out McCaffery.

QB recruiting can be like kissing frogs, have to kiss a few before you find a prince!

I hope he can return when healthy, but I don't want him to risk his health and future getting sacked 10 times by, say, OSU. Still, happy his recovery is going along such that this is an option. means he's healing well without complications.

Wilton should think twice about his future. He has two screws in his right shoulder, a mangled left shoulder and now 3 broken vertebrae in his neck. Clearly, he is vulnerable to injury. I like his grit and willingness to take one for the team, but he has no real prospects for NFL future so hit the books and graduate. Personally, we need some fresh young guys to give a spark to this offense. I am hoping the coaches work Peters into the rotation over the next 3 games and see if he can provide that needed spark. He has the best raw talent and was rated 4* and Elite11 ... he must be better ultimately than Speight or O'Korn. Maybe now is the time to test that theory and get him ready for 2018.

He should have played JOK a lot more last year (as a sub) so that he'd be better prepared to play this year, in the event of an injury to Speight.  There were lots of opportunities to do so (big leads). JH didn't do that and here we are.

I hope JH learned his lesson and will play Brandon Peters this year, so he's experienced and better prepared to play next year.

When Speight gets good protection he is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. The offensive line needs to step up and protect him. Watching him play after an injury like that could give them the guts to protect our leader.
