And now Dantonio's practice plan for Monday through November: prepare for Michigan.

But I don't care, still so funny.

I know we're in a state of BPONE and all but how exactly is MSU supposed to even remotely replicate OSU's game plan? They have one, maybe 2 decent receivers, no OL to speak of and a inaccurate QB. And their defense, while great, has been the same defense for years. On offense bide your time survive the zero to negative plays then break one deep late.

You make a good point for sure, but on the other hand, what else are they going to do?

I guess they could try something original. But... it's Sparty. Actually they'll probably just copy whichever team does best against us this year.

So maybe they'll install the triple option between now and November? Except never bring it out until they play us?

But I thought any offensive penalty at that point in the game results in either a 10 second runoff or the offense has to take a timeout (which MSU didn't have).

EDIT:  Didn't see your second sentence the first time - that makes sense.

EDIT #2: From sbnation:

For the 10-second runoff rule to be activated, you need three things:

  1. You need one of these: an injury timeout, a player's helmet coming off during a play (and not due to a foul), or an accepted penalty for one of a number of fouls. (If the penalty yardage is declined, the runoff is also declined). However, if any of these happen to both teams on the same play, there is not an option for a runoff.
  2. The incident in question has to happen in the last minute of a half. There cannot be a runoff in the other 58 minutes of the game. The final minutes of the first and third quarters do not qualify.
  3. Most complicated: the injury, helmet issue, or foul has to be the only reason the clock stopped. If the clock is not running when the foul occurs, there is no runoff.
