I'll be there.  My Father in Law got a 4 pack through MSU.  He, my MiL, and wife are all Spartans.  But as I tell people, "My wife then got two UofM degrees to class up her resume."

The great part is, as soon as FiL secured the tickets for the four of us, the Spartan-in-Laws have a conflict so can't go.  Replacing them will be two additional Wolverines.

Look for me, I'll be wearing Maize.

It is a trash tornado, but it is a good place to watch a game.  When my youngest was ready for a college football game, I actually took him to a NW at MSU game just a warmup.  It isn’t “as much” as going to a Michigan game.  Financially, energy wise, etc.  You park on “some road” and walk two blocks and bam, football.  There also is not a bad seat in the house.

Do not get me wrong, it’s NOTHING like a Michigan home game in terms of “coolness” and atmosphere but you can do a lot worse than Spartan Stadium in terms of catching a game.

Definitely get spoiled at the Big House with beautiful architecture and effort to make things look nice.

MSU stadium and many others (like Penn State) clearly shows years of little modifications and adjustments and has a very industrial feel. There are also a lot of ads which regular Michigan fans are spoiled in not having everywhere.

The Big House is really as close to a pure college football experience - just the field, and stands. No ads for someone's insurance company or some grocery store.

I had tickets but sold them as I unfortunately have a conflict that day. Can't wait to see the broadcast show the crowd. Expecting to see a lot of maize!!

I plan to be there. I figure it will be like last year's Hawaii game with a few differences:

  • Road game (obv.)
  • Colder (also obv.)
  • Classier collection of well-past-their-drinking-prime drunks
  • Uglier stadium

I guess that's more than few.

These prices aren’t dissimilar to prices at Minnesota a couple of weeks ago.

If you’re in the area you may never get a better chance to see Michigan play there.

Will be going with four others. Second road game of the year for me (Nebraska). First time I've ever made an MSU road game. Any recommended pregame activities over there for a small group of Michigan fans?

To be fair to East Lansing, it does have a few decent places to eat, although I haven't been to any of them on a game day. I would normally go just straight to Spartan Stadium since it is an 80-90 minute haul for me (I live in downriver Wayne County), so by then, it is far more about stretching my legs and simply nodding politely at MSU fans on my way into the stadium. It depends on what you're in the mood for, I suppose.

Depends on when you get there.  If you are looking for a place to watch the games before and have a few beers, somewhere in Okemos probably offers the best options with the least amount of work to get to the game.  I’d hit up old Chicago, buddies pub, buddies pizzeria,  etc.  then I’d head to the game via Mt. Hope and park at shaw lane lot and take the shuttle.  This should allow you to avoid having to go into campus and fight with traffic.  If you’re coming from North, I’d probably go with a different idea though.

I will be there with my dad, looking forward to Michigan taking on another road challenge and taking care of the Spartans in their house!  Hoping for an incident-free experience both on the field and in the stands/stadium environs (of course entirely expecting requisite amout of verbal abuse). Probably won't be spending all day in E. Lansing, but still looking forward to witnessing this chapter of the rivalry!

I'm surprising my dad with tickets. I took him to the Iowa game in 2016. He was a school teacher and was never super wealthy but was always wise with his money and so he only took me to games in the 4th quarter back the 90s by taking me and my siblings in when we were blowing out teams and they just opened the gates for anyone. After all the shit that my parents have supported me through it's almost literally the least I can do. I'd rather not admit how much I spent on these tickets but here's the view from the seats. Cheers to the man who got me into this crazy thing which we bonded over for 37 years
