No final score predictions for me. From my kind of vantage point way too many variables. I think over the analysis, you can kind of see where my head is at though.

This is why I think all the 48-14 kinds of scores based on JJ airing it out all game are a bit too optimistic. Emphasizing our running game may cut down our mistakes but it will also tend to limit our explosive big play potential. It’s doubtful we’re going to get a second consecutive 400-yd performance on the ground.
I think the final margin will be uncomfortably closer than most people around here assume.

Im saying 38-21, We rarely cover the spread against these guys and they always play pretty good against us, I just think we have a really good team this year.

Yep. -7 spread in 2018 and we won 21-7. -14 spread in 2019 (my first foray into betting, put a stupid amount of money down after getting far too drunk on the golf course) and we won 44-10.

Space Coyote, really glad to see you back. Thanks for posting the great analysis. Interesting take on the pass vs run offensive ideology. I want JJ to throw 40-45 times tonight, but this isn’t a video game. I will now be much more chill if Michigan leans heavy on the run.

I think Michigan will win, but I would not touch that spread. It seems odd to me that Brian kind of dismissed the return of Slade, a guy who manhandled our entire O-line last year - particularly Barnhart who Brian graded at like +3/-20!

No, but I think they can definitely score 21 off of some scripted drive that they practiced all summer, a couple inexplicable bombs to Reed where Thorne looks like Tom Brady, and some other nonsense while Michigan has a couple offensive hiccups due to Sparty getting their guys back. Hence why I don't trust that spread. I'm just trying to say that I feel people are overlooking MSU's recent defensive changes, such that this feels like it's going to be a defeat-with-dignity win that leaves us unsatisfied that it wasn't a brutal beatdown.
Sure hope we do give them the Penn State treatment though!

Coyote, I agree with your opinion that they won't air it out. I expect the early game to be like Iowa: ground and pound with an emphasis on ball security. If they get up 2 scores maybe they start airing it out more and piling on.
