So NOW who do you think will leave/come back?

Obviously this has been much discussed, but now that we have a more complete picture (with an unsatisfying end to the season), who do you think we will get back from this team?  I’d guess Dickinson, Johns Jr., Eli Brooks, and the young guys you’d expect to stay (Zeb, Williams, etc.).  I think Livers, Davis, and Smith are gone.

What do you think?

Wagner demonstrated that though his game can translate to the pros, he simply isn't ready. Disappearing and inconsistent offense is a recipe for struggle. Yes the money, I would think he would greatly improve his payday by staying a year

Wagner is not ready for the NBA, so he should be back. Hunter is not ready as well and should be back. I suppose those with eligibility should be back.

I agree... and someone will jump on this saying  "how can playing a year in college be better for development than practicing and playing every day against pros?"

He is way to inconsistent, IMO.... He does have the talent, no doubt, but he needs to get more consistent.... To me, that comes with repetition....   he'll get a lot more playing time at U of M than he will on a NBA bench or in the G league where he won't likely be assured a starting 5 role.

I'll wait to see who comes back.

We know Wagner and Livers are gone.

I can make a strong case for Brown coming back and starting. Especially if Brooks leaves.

Brooks and Smith are both wildcards.

And with the way the season ended and looking at the roster for next year...knowing we're not getting Chet. I would've said NO SHOT Davis returns, but now? I'm not so sure Juwan wouldn't recruit the hell out of him for one more year.

What transfer are you going to get better than Davis for 12 mpg?

I''m being greedy and hoping Wagner comes back for another year.  He needs another shot other then the swooping layup.  Going back to the OSU game he shot 4-23 from three.  That is not going to cut it in the NBA.   He has the NBA body and NBA mind.  He just does not have a NBA shot.  The NBA three is another step back.

I realize this won’t be the popular opinion, but I wouldn’t expect any of the seniors to come back.

Livers is guaranteed to move on and go pro, and he will likely be drafted in the second round of the NBA draft. I wouldn’t expect Davis back, this would be his sixth year of school and it’s probably just his time to move on and start a new chapter in life. Smith and Brooks are probably similar situations to Davis, though they may find some professional basketball opportunities overseas, don’t expect either guy to come back. Brown is also unlikely to return, the guy might be able to find his way onto an NBA roster through the G League. If I had to pick one guy to come back out of these five, give me Chaundee Brown.

The only underclassmen we shouldn’t expect to see come back is Franz. Franz is not likely to return, and in all honesty he really shouldn’t. He will be a first round pick in the NBA draft, the performance last night doesn’t change that reality. I would hope Howard encourages him to be smart and go get that money.

BJJ is an interesting case. With the incoming freshmen class, especially Moussa Diabate, he may consider transferring, but I think we will see him in a Michigan uniform next year. I hope this breakout performance in the tournament gives him the confidence boost to be a great starting player next year.

I'll preface this by saying this is a wish list, and also assuming Livers is definitely going to the NBA.   I would like to see Brookes, Brown and Wagner come back.  I know Wagner is good enough to go to the NBA but think he needs to become more consistent.  Brookes to help groom Collins, and Chaundee and Wagner for shooting and helping pass along the defensive mentality and culture to the incoming class.

I hope one of Brooks or Smith comes back as this team really needs a point guard.

Franz is gone i think to the draft; I'd love him to stay, but he's going to be a top 20 pick, even with that dud of a game.

'Ready' has nothing to do with it: the NBA drafts on potential, way more than the NFL does.

I am thinking the following are leaving:

Livers

Smith

Brown

Wagner

Brooks

Davis

That's 6 out of 8 rotation players.  I like the recruiting class coming in and the players coming back(curious to see how Jackson, Williams, and Howard develop this offseason) and there's always a chance Michigan rolls a seven on a grad transfer again(Fatts Russel from Rhode Island, Xavier Johnson from Pittsburgh, Marreon Jackson from Toledo, and Marcus Carr are the ones I like the best in terms of opportunity and position), but that is a LOT of minutes to replace.  Hoping this team starts out rough and then figures it out and gets hot for the tourney.  Going to be a roller coaster of a year next season.  Love the program Howard is building, but next year is probably the transition cost year in terms of having very little experience.

Howard came in and took over Belein's roster and made it work despite that team having lost Iggy, Matthew's, and Poole. The next year we lost Teske and Simpson to graduation and Dejulius and Castleton to transfer. We lost out on two 5 stars on signing day. Howard once again made it work with an ivy league transfer and a freshman center/Austin Davis. I'm trusting in Coach Howard until he shows me he can't make it work.

I don't think we see any of the seniors or Wagner come back. They have accomplished almost everything they can at this level short of a national title.

Obviously any of them could come back and I would be happy with that. With that said, the only one that I personally want to come back is Brown. This is assuming that Franz and Livers are gone. We have a hole at the 2/3. We also could use his minutes, defense, leadership and shooting for next year. I’m kind of tired of seeing 6’2+ shooting guards shooting over ours and having career nights. I think we need an infusion of size, quickness and scoring ability. I’m not trying to knock anyone on the roster but every other team we played this year had backcourt size over us. If Chaundee doesn’t want to come back, I’d like to get a top 100 sg or cg out of the portal, preferably one with an outside shot. I’m thinking how Gonzaga paired Nemhard with Suggs for example. I honestly don’t know who is going to provide outside shooting next year based on the projected roster other than Houstan. Williams and Zeb haven’t shown a great stroke as of now. Apparently Diabate is a work in progress for outside shooting. Johns can shoot it but I like his inside play and driving more and he’s not going to be a 40% outside shooter I don’t think. Don’t know about Bufkin but Collins isn’t a shooter. To open up for Hunter inside we need to be able to space the floor. Barnes may be developing a stroke this year but haven’t heard specifically. If Brooks comes back I’d like him at point and let Zeb and Bufkin have the 2. Frankie can back up Brooks. No more 6 foot tall two guards. Despite Franz struggles, our best lineup last night was Brooks, Brown, Franz, Johns and Dickinson (arguably Davis).

out of smith, brooks, brown I would be very happy if either brooks or brown came back. I don’t hate smith but would love for zeb or the incoming freshman pg to start and get some minutes

All I know is there will be some post in the next few weeks where we're asking ourselves why X person from this team left when Izzo finds a way yet again to bring back 1-2 players from this year's team who have no business staying in EL.

The Stockholm Syndrome is real.

Smith's size puts a hard cap on this team. Kid can shoot, dribble, and make plays. BUT he is too small to consistently hit the roll man and feed the post. He also struggles to defend bigger guards. Collins is a bit bigger and more athletic, plus we have Zeb. I think it would be better to get those guys as much experience as possible rather than having Smith run the O again.

I do hope that the other guys return.

I just hope Johns returns instead of hitting the portal. The Livers injury may be a blessing in disguise as far as Johns future is concerned.
