The Lions have regressed this season to being the SOL after looking quite different early on. They have the same lineman missing blocks that were good for other organizations last year. It has to be in their heads. They struggle with success. They’re comfortable and play their best when there’s no expectations.

I'm a Bengals fan, so I know what it feels like to be a Lions fan.  Even Marvin Lewis is smart enough to take the lead there with the FG and he is an idiot.  Steelers are always strong in those situations.

I’m having a hard time being mad at him for this game. Overall the Lions look prepared. This team isn’t good enough to get a yard on the goal line. Then the defense had them pinned deep. Fumbles. At some point the Lions need to get good enough to capitalize on these opportunities. If you can’t get a yard on 7 tried, you aren’t contending for anything anyways.

I get what you're saying, but not kicking the field goal, especially after your RY just went out injured, was the definition of boneheaded. I like Caldwell. I think he's a better than average coach, especially in motivation and preparation contexts, but without fail he will make at least one huge game management mistake each week
