The Sky Banner: Everything that sucks about this fanbase (rant)

Submitted by Larry Appleton on April 14th, 2019 at 8:34 AM

So entitled and smug that you would pay plenty of good money just to troll your own coach during what is supposed to be a fun celebration of the program.  You want to drive talent away from the program?  Because that’s how you drive talent away from the program.

Oh, and talk about being rich, entitled, AND stupid!  A critique on the offense during an offseason when Harbaugh handed the keys over to a new OC who will certainly be running a different offense?  Get f***ed, you pathetic troll!

Rant over.  Feel free to delete.

The sky banner was awesome! And you have no idea who paid for it if it was a Michigan fan or not. What’s wrong with the Michigan fan base is those that can’t take those maize and blue glasses off and understand that Michigan has been flawed in a lot of areas on the field and recruiting.

The athletic department has to wake up with how they operate. Yesterday was a joke compared to what was on all day long on tv.

I’m also going to add if a WR recruit is being advised correctly he already knows about what the banner said.

anyone that didn't take that as good-natured humor might want to look in the mirror.  it was funny and it was obviously not meant with any malice.   and like all good humor, there was a kernel of truth to it.

Agreed. Let's see some actual games where they don't  run Mason on 3rd and short and then again on 4th and short before we proclaim the offense to be cutting edge.

Would also like to see Pony show up against a big time offense, but that's another topic.

So the "problem" with the FAN base is that they root for their players, sometimes even to irrational FANatic levels, sometimes even when they haven't beaten their "rivals" in decades because that's what FANS do, and we all need to be wearing microscopes to dissect every little thing?

Lemme guess, you also go around telling 6 year olds Santa ain't real.

The real annoyance of you concern trolls is that you act oblivious to all the improvements made in the last four years, plus the fact that anyone who thought this program was gonna catchup to OSU in four years is an imbecile.

Oh goodness you are a “more time” guy. You probably are also a “Look how long it took Dabo” guy too. As if any of it has to do with each other.

You are right there are improvements from Hoke. Michigan no longer loses to Rutgers.

But let’s take a deeper dive into the above. Jim has been given more resources to succeed than any other Michigan coach combined. Coaching salary for assistants, a football building full of analysts, and a support staff that includes photographers and edit guys. In the last 4 years he has done what most Michigan teams have done in my lifetime and that’s lose 3 games a year and lose the bowl game.

He was brought here to go above the Michigan norm. He has had plenty of time to do it. This he needs more time excuse has run thin on a lot of people. Get the job done

You said: "....4 years ...... what most Michigan teams have done ..."

So he erased the RR/Hoke nightmare and is addressing the "offense behind the times" in two years (cuz yeah manball still seemed ok in '16 in the fan base) and brings in speed in space but somehow it hasn't been QUICK enough?

Now who's delusional?

This speed in space as said before is a wait and see if this is the case. It’s just as likely, as every other Michigan coach has done, hand Gattis the playbook and make it work.

Gattis has said himself all he is doing is tweeking some stuff. IMO this offense won’t be drastically different from what we have seen and it still will be a predominately run heavy offense. Oh and we will continually be cautious and play for 3.

Are you offering us the ability to trade intelligence for wealth? That is a tough question. I think I could handle giving up 10 iq for a billion dollars.

what are we talking about again?

dilly dilly is real funny. I like beer

You really think a recruit would not choose Michigan because some person spent a lot of money on a sky banner telling Harbaugh it’s ok to pass the ball on 1st down? Lol.

Call me crazy, but im more worried about driving talent away because of OSU kicking our ass for the last 20 years.

It’s called self deprecation. A little humor....Jim hired a guy to fix it, so get off your high horse. That its not your type of humor is fine, but maybe you should not get enraged by someone having a little fun. Chill the fuck out.

The only issue I have with it is thinking about the douche bag that would do something like this giggling about it and thinking how awesome he is.

"Dear, I just balanced our checkbook and discovered an extra $5,000 I didn't know that we had. You know that dream vacation you've always wanted to take to Hawaii?"

"Yes! Are we going to Hawaii?!"

"No. I've thought of something much more important!"

It is a very richie rich way to spend good money that could go to a million better causes, but I am pretty sure it was supposed to be funny--with a bit of actual frustration thrown in--not an aggressive Harbaugh takedown. Even if it was, I can think of about 9 million reasons Harbaugh should be able to handle it.

I (lifelong fan, 7 yr. usher) was standing at Gate 10 with the supervior at Gate 10 (lifelong fan, 35+ yr usher/supervisor) and we both found it fairly amusing and a waste of money, enough said. Your panties need to get unbunched. If I was a recruit I would think someone has a lot of money to state their  opinion and then wonder what was being served for dinner---Satchel's BBQ or Zingerman's sandwiches?
