Six snaps: nice NFL debut for Rashan Gary
Nice NFL debut for Rashan in the few snaps he got for the Packers vs the Bears last week. Here is a quick breakdown of the young man flashing his potential:

I might be alone, but the title of the thread made me think you were being sarcastic.

Thought the same thing and was prepared to neg haha.

I thought it was the title of a sports news outlet.

My apologies to all, that was not my intent

Packer's fans are the worst. 90% of them on social media were ready to give up on him after preseason. He's their 12th overall pick...

That's so weird. Social media users are typically so patient and circumspect with their stated opinions. Must be a Green Bay thing.

Of course, but it's pretty unusual for fans to give up so quickly on their high pick. After PRESEASON. You don't see that much
Even MGoBlog snowflake threads have the occasional rational take.
Of course as a diehard Bears fan I'm biased lol

Addendum:
You don't see that much... unless...
You are a Lions fan, and the organization just drafted a WR or TE.
You are a Browns fan, and they drafted a Michigan grad.
You are a NY fan, and they drafted... potentially anyone who looks to be underachieving.

Can't think of any other fan base where 90% on social media are ready to give up super early in a season...

Thanks for posting this. I watched the whole game, painfully, and never noticed him in the game. I was surprised their wasn't anything mentioned about him tr he day after, but I guess because he didn't get any notable stats.

Hopefully 0 injuries.

I think Gary, Bush, and Winovich all had promising debuts this past weekend. My favorite moment may have been Winovich talking shit to Roethlisberger after an INT last night. I didn't see it, but I read that Bryan Mone was active and made some plays for the Seahawks yesterday. Mone may start for the Seahawks next week due to injury and suspension to Seahawks DTs. David Long was inactive, but the Rams are deep at CB so it is hard to read too much into that.

Would love that for Mone. Thanks for the tidbits

Wish there was another big body like Mone in the middle.

Winovich also made an excellent open field tackle when he ran down and tackled a Steeler's receiver.

I'm still wrapping my head around Rashan Gary being converted to a stand-up linebacker. I thought his conversion position would have been DT... Perhaps this is why I'm not an NFL GM?

Did you watch these snaps? Every single one he rushed the passer like a traditional DE.

Perhaps that’s why he’s having difficulty seeing him as a linebacker. IDK
September 9th, 2019 at 9:11 PM ^
Would've been nicer if he had 69 snaps
September 10th, 2019 at 12:06 AM ^
Wouldn't 70 snaps be even better?

GB fans have given up hope as they never had hope for him. GB is used to squandering 1st round picks and drafting prospects that never pan out. So, it’s not as much a shot at Gary as much as it is a shot at the organization. Many felt it was a reach at 12, and I would agree that it was. While highly athletic, Gary never put anything on tape that made you think top draft pick, let alone 1st round. Gary will have to fight to get fan support in GB as he’s already behind the eight ball with the free agent signings looking good so far and Gary being sidelined by nagging injuries and constant hand on hips during open training camp and workouts. Maybe this is a good thing as it won’t amount to a huge amount of pressure on him. It’s way too early to tell, but around GB area, the fans are pretty sure this is another wasted 1st round draft pick.

While I truly hope for him to break out, I can’t feel like this article was taken from MGoblog. It basically says that he played really well, even though it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.
