I love how Brandon Brown both wondered allowed by Harbaugh wouldn't trash Gray (insinuating he should have said there might be some shake-up coming up) AND seemed shocked that Harbaugh said he might shake up the the offensive line (because that would break up cohesion?).  Honestly, it's an SI synopsis of a Zoom call, and Brown was never all that deep in his analysis in the best of times.

Harbaugh NEVER throws his players under the bus.  He knows Gray was bad on Saturday. GRAY knows he was bad on Saturday. Saying so to the media would gain him nothing.

The problem isn't that Harbaugh is delusional, the problem is that he's done everything we wanted him to and it isn't working.  He brought in a great D-Coordinator, who has been great in 85% of our games but terrible in the other 15%.  He brought in a new O-Coordinator who has revamped the offense but it hasn't really worked.  He altered who he recruited to try and play more modern ball, but it isn't really working either.

Something just isn't working.  Could someone else do better?  Sure probably.  The problem is, who?

This comment needs to be repeated elsewhere. This is spot on. So many hot takes on this board that the solid ones get lost. At the end of the day there simply aren't that many coaches moving the needle and the few that do are not looking to leave where they are. Harbaugh has committed to moving in the right direction and that may be the only reasonable option at this point.

So basically you’re saying he should stay, because you don’t think there is anyone out there better. This is such a piss poor excuse that gets proven wrong continuously. I like Harbaugh, but it’s time! The team looked dead on arrival Saturday. The lack of adjustments on both sides of the ball were alarming

If he gives his salary back I might have some sympathy.  But since he's not and he's one of the top paid coaches in the country then it's his JOB to figure this crap out.  After year 6 it's obvious he's not the guy for the job.  Either he got lucky with some talented coordinators at his other stop or he forgot how to run a football team.  Either way he needs to go the way this team was unprepared Saturday was criminal ... and being unprepared for games is a pattern with Jim Harbaugh.

Can we really pretend, if in the tough games the defense underperforms, that Brown has done a great job? Statistically, the only great game he called was the State game under 100.

What has he done that Mattison had not done? That Durkin wasn’t doing? The point is: are we measuring how great a defensive coordinator is off of their ability to shut down Rutgers?

Shoot, his defense struggled against Army—and he had how much time to prepare them for a one dimensional offense like that?

Great defenses stifle good offenses and contain great ones. He’s simply not that great of a play caller. He’s not that great at developing players, either, as the coordinator. What does he do other than design blitzes and leave the middle of the field open?

Don Brown sucks. As sure as Mel Tucker was a shitty NFL defensive coordinator, Don Brown is not aN elite college coordinator. BC wasn’t some amazing team with him—stats can deceive.

Just eye-opeing? Is jaw-dropping played out?

Three strawmen erected and subsequently torched.  For instance, on the last point abut shuffling the offensive line: given the number of times that blocking assignments appeared to have been missed or blown, maybe there are better combinations.

The game was lost before the season started.  This team, as in years past, has horrible discipline and executes plays at an even lower level.  The longer the Harbo Express runs the track, the greater the  train wreck.

Michigan shit the bed and the coaches are mostly to blame. This is a very young and mostly talented team with holes at CB and DT and QB tbd.

Everywhere else the talent is there.

"SI" is like "Newsweek" -- empty husk of a freelance aggregating operation that floats along solely by fooling people that there is any connection to the excellent antecedents that bear the same name.

(I know, I know -- kind of like "Michigan Football" (ba dum bum) -- I know)

Could it be that the offensive line comment was made regarding possible injuries? The other two were strictly about not publicly criticizing his players and coaches. Now if the second two aren't being taken care of in private, then its a major problem. The cornerbacks were horrible and need to be coached up. The grabbing and holding has got to go away. Brown needs to be called on the carpet for his refusal to provide help over the top when you could quickly see what MSU's game plan was. Not sure if it was Gattis's play calling or Milton's inability to make the right read but it did look like many of those head scratching runs up the middle might have been options where Milton looked a lot like Shea last year in regards to not keeping the ball and taking it to the edge. There is a lot to be taken care of but does anybody actually believe Harbaugh is going to air his dirty laundry in public. Reminds me of when Bobby Ross coaching the Lions blurted out in his press conference "I don't coach that stuff". That kind of quote lives with you for infamy.
