Sherrone Moore to be guest at State of the Union
Invited as personal guest of Debbie Dingell:

One can discuss about motivations, politics etc. behind the invite, but regardless - what an honor for the new young coach and very happy for him.
The expression is “different sides of the aisle,” but “different sides of the isle” could work as well since Michigan consists of 2 peninsulas.
This is one of those malapropisms I find amusing, like “collect the low hanging food” instead of low hanging fruit.
I know someone who attended the 2020 Presidential debate. That was also cool, until they found out they were exposed to covid by one candidate’s supporters. (I mean, if we are going to skirt political issues, why not go full 2020-level insanity?)
Harbaugh has strong beliefs and opinions like many of us.
He was comfortable standing his ground and being public with them, but was never judgmental or sanctimonious with his views.
He's also open minded and listens to others (see Colin Kaepernick situation) and doesn't jump to conclusions.
Would be great if we could all be a bit less political with our views and more open to other opinions before demonizing those we disagree with.
Most things should be up for public discourse and debate without political shit flinging...except of course that OSU sucks balls and Ryan Day is a pussy - This is a universal truth that all should accept.
*aisle*
Exactly, if I agreed or disagreed with JH's stance on Life/Choice, it didnt matter. I support his right to decide what he believes and I support Moore's. It's become stupid the way people react to either side and it's something a lot of people in public eye stay away from these days because of it.
My grandmother told me that not so long ago there were three things you didn't discuss with friends or associates, religion, politics and income. Thanks to a few "news" sources and social media, that's changed, sadly.
Great honor for him to get to attend in person.
I'm also sorry that he'll have to see first-hand what the current state of American politics have evolved (devolved?) into.
That's a great honor. In before the thread gets locked.
I think her seat is pretty safe.
Someone in your home state just totally kicked ass...why not celebrate The Ohio contingent I'm sure will love it.
Good for Sherrone
I feel much better about this than watching the camera pan over to Saban as ____'s guest (please God, not Tommy Tuberville).
Politically, Saban is much closer to Carr than he is to Tuberville.
Saban should run against Tuberville just for the LOLs.
I hope he Atleast tell MTG to stfu and sit down !
Almost made it a whole hour!
Let's leave the politics out and just say, it would be fun to watch Sherrone down block a good number of individuals in Washington, and aspiring to be in Washington.
Always curious to see where/when these types of threads go South. Got through quite a few comments to get to that point. Blog seems to be mellowing out and more civil about politics last few months.
I don’t even mind political comments of either side if well thought out and not slamming someone but this adds nothing to the conversation.
I have never watched a state of the union. This may be my first now.
Comedy Central used to cover it live with commentary. Those were the days.
I can't imagine how Comedy Central would even approach the state of the union today without biting their lip
I ended up not watching just to keep my streak alive. Was Sherrone Moore highlighted at all? I was hoping for someone to post something by now.
Better than inviting Warde.
Better than inviting Putin?
I'll be there next year, Clarence, along with our mutual friend MBS.
Dick Jones always gets an invite due to OCP's...um, relationship with the government. I can go with him.
On a related note, Don’t the national champs usually make a White House visit? When does that usually take place?
I don't think any team has gone since COVID. I think this is the new trend now unfortunately.
Hmm, I don't think that's accurate. Quick googling tells me that Georgia declined last year to go because of scheduling issues, so I suspect they'll go. I hope some of the players who declared still get to go.
So that's what I'm saying, no team has gone since COVID for whatever reason. It doesn't look like it will change this year.
Wouldn't be surprised if the White House scraps this for the most part for most champion teams (regardless of sport) on account of players being increasingly vocal about political feelings of the presidents/other hot topic issues.
Is the team going to visit the White House later this year?
Yep. And I bet steaks and whole milk will be served instead of shitty ass cold Big Macs.
What a great experience for him. I'd love to go to a SOTU just to people watch.
... much better people watching at the private, black-tie, fundraising dinners.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall -- I'm sure it would be fascinating.
The subtle "posing and posturing" by the men is wonderful and the wives go *all out* with the gowns and the jewelry. 👍👍 By evening's end, silly things get said and everyone wanders off.
Good for him. I don’t hold it against him.
There better not be any potential recruits in attendance. NCAA will bring the hammer.
Kidding. Good for him. Why wouldn't ya invite THE Champion HC who's win% is 1.000
Good for him and well deserved.
Stay away from the politicians Sherrone.
Preach, Mike!
Will he be able to understand the babbling is my question. The over/under on made up words tonight is 50.
stuttering isn't the same thing as babbling and is a pretty shitty thing to make fun of
Democrats mocked Bush for his malaprops.
OH, THE HYPOCRISY!
Need I post a video of a former president's butchered gibberish? How soon people forget.
Final tally. 113. What a old senile man. The anger he displayed was very un-american.
I can't, man 😂. Better take out better insurance on your glass house.
I thought the people who looted and ransacked the Capitol building using clubs and fire extinguishers to beat the Capitol police, threaten congresspeople, and destroy property was some pretty unAmerican anger but what do I know.
Fawke off
Looks like you may have lost a lot of money then.
Hey, the old man kicked rhetorical ass out there. He smacked down the hecklers too.
