Sherron Moore during the championship parade: "I hope some day I can be called a Michigan man"

I know the parade was some weeks back, but thought this was touching.

Reporter: "And what does this university mean to you?"

Sherron: "Everything. Can't really put words into it. Love this place. Feels like I went to college here. Hope some day I can be called a Michigan man"

Welcome to the club. Bo didn't go to Michigan either!

I like the video clip, after Sherrone speaks they turn to the crowd and the camera locks in on a ten year old kid wearing a “JJ FUCKING MCCARTHY” shirt. Hilarious.

To be a Michigan man, one has to know that the program will always be bigger that you. Given what Sherrone said in the presser, this will be about the players plus relying on his assistants for advice.

Sherrone is there, he IS a Michigan man.

Long may he prosper as Head Coach at Michigan.

Sherrone kept Michigan playing at a super-high level under the most pressure-packed conditions put on a team in recent memory.

Relax, buddy, you are already admired as a Michigan Man, 100%.

Coach is already a Michigan Man. "I don't want someone from Arizona State coaching the Michigan team. A Michigan Man will coach Michigan!"  At some point the media twisted the entire Michigan Man quote.  It had nothing to do with playing at Michigan or graduating from Michigan.  Even the person he was talking about, Steve Fisher, never played or went to school at Michigan.

1000%.  This misinterpretation of Bo's phrase has always driven me crazy.  Never did Bo suggest that a coach had to be from Michigan, but he very much meant that Michigan isn't like other places and that the role requires something special.  Coach Moore gets that, has walked the walk, and seems to already have a deep appreciation and love for Michigan and his team.  He's every bit a Michigan Man.

That proclamation has been blown out of proportion over the years. There isn't an athletic director in America who would have let Bill Frieder get away what what he was trying to do. When you accept another job with a competitor, you leave right away. Go assume your new role. Even sticking around to coach a bowl game has come to be frowned upon, let alone a four week tournament.

Thought just crossed my mind: does "who's got it better than us" no longer apply, is that a Harbaugh thing, or will it continue post JimH?
