Wow, I thought they'd at least wait until October 1 and save themselves $7 million or whatever.  I'm not a fan in general of in-season firings, but I guess having him as a dead man walking for two months wasn't too appealing.

If I'm Alberts, I don't touch anyone associated with the Frost regime, no matter how much the players lobby.  They've got to get the stench of Frost out of there completely.

I wouldn’t even blame Nebraska if they went all in on Meyer. He’s a sleazy douche, but he wins, and he’s pretty good at building very solid recruiting and assistant coaching foundations.

If they get him, they know it’s a 5-year rental at most, but he’s prob set them up as a solid Big Ten West power in that time.

He would also potentially interfere with Ohio State recruiting as well (though to a small degree) maybe.

I understand the sentiment, but Meyer has a tendency to walk into a program that already has so many of the pieces in place (and Nebraska May have some of those)…..but walking into Zook recruited Florida with Chris Leak, and then Tressell recruited OSU with Braxton Miller is different than walking into Nebraska with a lower talent level than the best of the conference (I know BiG10 west caveats though).

I just think to his comments about being surprised at how he felt like he had to prepare for “Alabama” each week as an NFL coach, and how he was losing his mind over losing preseason games, like he was unaware he couldn’t just get Trevor Lawrence and win big instantly like he’s been used to.

Im pretty sure he even walked into a pretty nice roster at Utah as well now that I think of it.

…..I admit I’m a sucker for Urban Meyer gossip…..

Kinda surprised they didn’t wait until October 1st when his buyout drops to officially can him, but in the other hand, not really. Between now and then seems like such an insurmountably long amount of time, especially with three games in between.

Hate Frost and am glad to see him fail miserably, and am sort of sad that his comedy of errors has officially ended, but also felt legitimately awful for Nebraska’s fanbase. Those shots of their fans looking hopelessly dejected following the missed field goal to end the game honestly gave me no joy. I think we all know that horrible feeling here. Really curious as to who they’ll end up with next. It can’t get much worse for them, right?

Really shocked at Frost's failure at Nebraska.  There was no reason to believe that he wouldn't be a great coach there.  But apparently he hit his ceiling as either a non Power 5 HC or as an offensive coordinator.  I do really like him as an offensive guy and anyone who wants to have a good offense built around a dual threat QB should be calling him up.

I feel bad for him.  He had his pick of jobs and went home to try to fix the Nebraska football program.  We had a front row seat on how tricky coming home can be.  I really hope lands a new job and finds some success.

Yes, he says some stupid stuff and didn't help himself as a result.

Difficult to imagine this turning out any other way, short of it happening in three more weeks.

There’s a lot with Scott Frost to not like. And, truthfully, he did bring a fair amount of it on himself. Still, he came back to the school that he loved to try and return it to the national relevance he enjoyed while he played there, and he failed. That, if nothing else, tugs at my heartstrings a little bit.
