A recruit said that. On signing day. Of course schiano is gonna say I'm staying. Will muschamp said he wasn't leaving auburn, until he did.

I think Schiano is overrated personally, so I'm fine with him staying at OSU. I felt we had great gameplans against them since he's been there and we've just botched execution.

OSU's defense did not impress me last year - they won because of their offense (and mostly weaker competition).  Iowa, of all teams, was able to put 55 on them.  If we had a semi-capable offense last year, we win that game.  If anything, he is just a recruiter for them.

Also, I would still not be surprised if he leaves in the near future - after signing day, of course.

Ohio State's 247 team recruiting class ranking is No. 2.

Among 25 recruits:

Three 3-stars

Nineteen 4-stars

Three 5-stars

Has Michigan EVER had a class that dominant?

They don't need Schiano.  Your local barista at the corner Starbuck's can just as easily coach Ohio State to 12-1 or 13-0 and the national title games.

Staying doesn't really bother me. What does is reports that Urban Meyer is about to sign an extension that will keep him in Columbus for at least the next 5 years.

Oh well. Embrace the reality of it and find a way to beat him.

Iowa found a way to humilate Meyer by almost 5 TDs. There is no excuse for us to not be able to find a way to beat him by even one point.

We weren’t getting Reese or Jean. If we can snag Rice grad transfer the offseason won’t be a complete waste. Can’t compete against TBA bag man!

He's trash. To paraphrase Tommy Lasorda, when a team hires a piece of shit 50+ to Iowa dipshit, I'll get the c---sucker a limo to make sure he's there at the game calling plays.

Not seeing why this is a good thing for us, at least why everyone seems to think it is. Sure We may have early success in games against him but when they put the clamps down we don’t do anything. Since he’s been there, they have been top 10 statistically in like every category each year. Their fan base considers keeping Schiano as the best news of the year.

He's a decent DC, but not a great one. I am glad he's staying.  BTW, I heard on another site that he was never offered the job.  Fake opportunity to create fake publicity for OSU.

From the sounds of it, Greg Schiano's contract expired back in January 31st, and AD Gene Smith convinced him to stay with a significant pay raise... Smith hinted that Ohio State is about to have their first asst. coach that make $1+ million/year.

There's also some rampant rumors that Belichick is considering retirement within the near future, and Josh McDaniels stayed because Kraft has promised him the job.

Plus, from a money standpoint, Schiano will probably be getting a hefty settlement from Tenneesee soon.
