After the investigations at…

After the investigations at 4/7ths of the B1G East, your concern is “how do they keep guys quiet?”

Here's what bothers me about…

Here's what bothers me about your explanation (not saying it's nonsense):  What investigative tools or abilities does the NCAA or B1G have that Michigan *doesn't* have?  Why would they have information, but Manuel/Ono don't?  If Ono had the info, he wouldn't have sent that combative letter, would he?  If he didn't have the info, did he never investigate?  Seems unlikely that he'd unzip and let fly unless he he was confident an information axe wasn't out there.

Is Schiano the coach who had…

Is Schiano the coach who had his players dive over the line to get to a QB who was taking a knee at the end of a game?  Yeah, eff him.

Do we have any evidence that…

Do we have any evidence that Davis will NOT be interested in a large bag of money?  He will surely get such offers.

Let’s pick 10 years since it…

Let’s pick 10 years since it’s essentially the post-Tressel modern era.

Ohio State has had the B1G QB of the year in 8 of those 10 years. Miller and Barrett combined for 5. I’d say that’s a great track record.

That also describes me. In a…

That also describes me. In a different context.

The exact same point when…

The exact same point when people give up social security benefits because they don’t need them. Or pay more taxes because they can. You signing up for those?

Or shorter.

Or shorter.

She’s known as a very slow…

She’s known as a very slow starter out of the blocks. Impaired reaction time??

Didn’t think I’d ever see …

Didn’t think I’d ever see “IOC” and “rules-loving” in the same sentence.

I’ll take Bribery for $2000, Alex. And give you half if you accept whatever I say.

Their Laughing Lab (Scottish Ale) is awesome.

Quite the rant on IG. Not…

Quite the rant on IG. Not that it was realistic, but we dodged one here. If OSU could pick a place for him to go it would probably be Alabama. Addition/subtraction by subtraction/addition.

I remember trying to…

I remember trying to convince my parents I was eleventeen.

Ever listen to the S-Town…

Ever listen to the S-Town podcast?  Interesting horology angle to it.

Bingo. At least Villari is 6…

Bingo. At least Villari is 6’4” 227 lb according to the roster. I look at Cade or JJ and see an AC separation waiting to happen. If I was an opponent DC I’d make every option read be a keep and just pound the QB. If I’m Gattis I never even call an option read for fear of getting them hurt... which reduces the potential advantage of putting the D in conflict.

This isn’t what I thought …

This isn’t what I thought “having” would feel like.

Equal to the positive…

Equal to the positive economic impact on a different majority African American inhabited city?

Iow, they called it like a…

Iow, they called it like a B1G game!

The conclusion is clear: …

The conclusion is clear:  figure skaters should wear helmets, shoulder, chest, and back pads.

The hill is lost. Descend.

The hill is lost. Descend.

Exactly. Everyone seems to…

Exactly. Everyone seems to think an extra year of eligibility equals an extra guaranteed scholarship year. I interpreted it as *schools* get to make a choice and no one is guaranteed anything more than a 4-year scholarship.

Well done!

Voice and song…

Well done!

Voice and song remind me of the Gale Boetticher character from Breaking Bad.

I asked who was happier with…

I asked who was happier with his decision. What I got from you is a bunch of if's and but's and a non sequitur about DPJ's NFL experience.

Looking at it today, objectively and as a business decision, I think it's clear that DPJ is quite happy with his decision.  For you to deny that DPJ did not come out ahead is absurd.  He's getting paid to play football and is one year closer to his second contract.  An often cited reason by players when they leave early, right or wrong, is that it gets them a closer to their second contract.

DPJ had three years of evidence regarding his development at Michigan and apparently felt a fourth would not make a big enough difference.  He decided to take his healthy body to the combine and draft.

Here's what we have a priori:  a healthy body, a lack of certainty in further development, and a non-zero injury risk in an extra year.  Additionally, here's what we know after the fact:  a pandemic college season with a completely crappy offense.

And you "see no where that DPJ came out ahead"?

What did Nico get?

Here’s a recent case study: …

Here’s a recent case study:  who’s happier with their decision - DPJ or Nico?

And give up the competitive…

And give up the competitive advantage of our opponents not knowing who our coach is???

They did in 1942.

They did in 1942

Even though not a…

Even though not a championship contender, I thought our parody game was on point this year.

If NW has a Covid-19 problem…

If NW has a Covid-19 problem and knows soon enough, I guess Iowa would go to the B1G CG instead. That would satisfy a bunch of people here.

The best I can come up with…

The best I can come up with is “Sudoku.”

Seriously, now we’re going to complain about which titan from the vaunted West division we are facing?  (Coach-less Illini would be preferable I agree.)

I think you are arguing in…

I think you are arguing in favor of the decision; but I'm not sure.

How about a single-combat…

How about a single-combat duel for The Game in order for OSU to get 6 games?  Jim vs. Ryan??

Fight to the death?  I bet that would get gonzo ratings.  And some divided loyalties.

Causing Herman to get fired…

Causing Herman to get fired would have been the biggest favor Meyer could have done for Herman.  Herman would get paid and get out.

Entertaining Texas’ interest and then rejecting it does the most harm possible.  It leaves Herman twisting in the wind and unable to effectively recruit.  Cruel.

There is no love lost between those two.

Dumb forearm to the head…

Dumb forearm to the head. Totally unnecessary. Freshman mistake.

1 & 2, true.
3. Actually…

1 & 2, true.
3. Actually Urban kept him as DC, and he ended up coordinating a NC defense.
4. I still maintain Fickell is staying put, waiting for the ND job to open.  I believe Kelly will retire soon (1-2 years) and Fickell would be an excellent fit.

Well he’s certainly…

Well he’s certainly forgotten clock management.  Also, roster management.

Glad I read through all the…

Glad I read through all the comments before repeating this one. In fact, if I’m an opposing coach I let it be known that’s what I did in order to induce the pig-headed response from Harbaugh:  “Oh yeah, I’ll show you!”

Dax Hill is now mailing it…

A120 here. This will not end…

A120 here. This will not end well.

Business bad? **** you, pay…

When you take the job and the salary:

“Business bad? **** you, pay me. Oh, you had a fire? **** you, pay me. The place got hit by lightning, huh? **** you, pay me. Also, Paulie could do anything. Especially run up bills on the joint's credit. And why not? Nobody's gonna pay for it anyway. And as soon as the deliveries are made in the front door, you move the stuff out the back and sell it at a discount. You take a two hundred dollar case of booze and you sell it for a hundred. It doesn't matter. It's all profit. And then finally, when there's nothing left, when you can't borrow another buck from the bank or buy another case of booze, you bust the joint out. You light a match.”

This arrogance is exactly…

This arrogance is exactly what will fuel Rutgers against us this year. Schiano will use it for a signature (brand-name at least) win in his first year. I expect them to leave nothing in reserve. You see all the tricks they ran last night?  We can’t prep for regular football and now we have to prep for all that too??

This is a different way of…

This is a different way of saying what I was thinking regarding all the "decision based on one game?" comments...

After Saturday, maybe he thinks Mel Tucker's job security is better than Jim Harbaugh's.  Based on reading message boards and national commentary, he might be right.

The Notre Dame job could…

The Notre Dame job could open (Kelly’s decision) and that would be Fickell’s top choice. I think he’s (productively) biding his time for it.

Hope he said “Hi” to Walt…

Hope he said “Hi” to Walt and Saul.

Infatuation is the right word. Maybe it’s because he looks like he’s a middle-schooler.

Mike Golic 2.0

In fact, if I glanced at that photo and you told me it was Golic, I’d have believed you.

What’s next, is he gonna ask…

What’s next, is he gonna ask for an extra $M like the usual first game lay-down opponents get?

”It’s on the night stand honey.”

Back to back years at home…

Back to back years at home. Got that fixed at least.

No need for Michigan to drop…

No need for Michigan to drop any. None of the players would have been denied a four-year scholarship.

Wisconsin has already said those spring athletes who were given another year of eligibility can move on with their lives - the school’s scholarship commitment has been fulfilled.

However, 2021 scholarship limits are still up for discussion I’m sure.

Assuming his team is at the…

Assuming his team is at the 85 scholarship limit, has anyone asked Lane to list, by name, the players he’d drop in order to make room for these transferring players?  I guess he could ask for that limit to be increased while he’s at it.
