S Jordan Morant is transferring
That seems like he was quick to pull the cord here. After only his rs f year in which he played 8 games.
Edit: After further research he was listed in the getting late early section of the team preview
He was solidly behind Moten, Paige, and Moore who have the same or more eligibility and we just brought on a star studded class. It is unfortunate but an understandable decision.
I think what did it was Moore being so fucking good so quickly and passing him so soon. And yeah, the star studded class -
I was rather high on Morant though - mildly surprised he didn't make it.
I think injuries just held him back. If he never got hurt I think it would be a different story.
I remember thinking he and Moten were huge recruiting wins and were close to the only reasonable depth. Things do not always turn out like you expect.

Yah, say what you will about Shoop and sitting out...but it looks like he's responsible for analyzing and finding Moore, who is a future star. You can see the difference in his type of recruit vs the types we've had forever that are elite athletes, many of which transfer out.
Agreed. I want to say at one point he was like the top safety according to 247 at some point during 2020 recruiting or something like that. If it was true he was passed by seemingly everyone, it's completely understandable. With 2 high-ranking Safety in 2022 and an underdog in Dent, it was probably going to be tough for him to see the field outside of special teams.
Best of luck to him, and hopefully a better-used roster slot for us and a Michigan education for a player TBD.
Morant was always a LB/S tweener and also his injury senior year seriously affected him so this isn't super surprising
Agreed. He should switch back to LB at a smaller school where his size isn't as big a detriment, and the speed he has that made him more attractive at S would be a boon.
Although he's from NJ, so there's also a chance he hits up Schiano.
Maybe he’ll go to UMass and be Don Browns viper
I sort of figured this after the spring game retro when it was clear he was behind a number of guys. Wish him luck.
Good luck young man. I hope you land in a nice spot!
woulda coulda shoulda on two Morants now, bah!
This (from Seth's post on the main page) was my reaction: "... but we're still going to let out a sigh for the talented quasi-Peppers who was working back from a bad injury most of his time at Michigan."
I thought his HS highlights looked great. Too bad about the injury.
Come to CMU and play on a real top 25 team! :)
I do like the UM to CMU pipeline. Hopefully Coach Mac can keep it going.
Happy trails to Jordan Morant and it looks like Donovan Jeter as well. Was hoping he would come back in the fold.
Sammy Faustin and Jack Stewart as well. Need one more open spot for Cam Goode from UCF to come help our dline

He'll always be Jordan the Andal to me. I was rooting for him to see the field so hard based solely on the most tangential connection to Game of Thrones ever. Best of luck to him wherever he lands.
