Three posts in a row, you are trying very hard to say JJ is bad at throwing. I see SEC games and I see their WRs making incredible catches. Did you watch Bama game? Bryce Young is good but his WRs bailed him out multiple times. JJ is not perfect but don't keep trying to shove a narrative that it is JJ's fault.
November 6th, 2022 at 7:00 AM ^
I saw M receivers drop like 5 balls that we literally watched OSU receivers catch earlier today.
Id be curious what the UFR shows but I feel like I remember 5-6 passes hitting players in the face/hands/numbers and the WR's dropping all of it.
JJ throws a big boy ball and it doesnt look like these guys are ready for it.

It's possible that a little subliminal cognitive dissonance is happening with our receivers... We have relied on the run game primarily, so they might not have the same sense of urgency that other receivers have with other programs. It's not overt, it just seems like they know their routes and catches aren't as crucial to the outcome of the game.
Just my 2-cents (which probably isn't worth half of that)!
November 6th, 2022 at 8:36 AM ^
Maybe he just doesn’t have the right touch.
November 6th, 2022 at 8:45 AM ^
There is a lot of blame to go around and it is not just JJ.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:12 AM ^
Andrel had to lay out for that one and he had his man beat by about 5 yards. That is on JJ, actually.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:57 AM ^
Andrea ley up, that was 100 on him.
November 6th, 2022 at 11:27 AM ^
Yeah, the long throw was on McCarthy for sure. Anthony had so much space even the slightest underthrow was an easy catch.
Meanwhile there had to be 5 other plays entirely on the receivers. They better get their shit together, because if I'm an opposing DC I'm making Michigan best us through the air going forward.
November 6th, 2022 at 6:49 AM ^
Need more loft on it.
November 6th, 2022 at 10:03 AM ^
^^^^^
This exactly. His deep balls don't have enough loft/air to allow the receiver to run under them. Even if it is slightly underthrown, the receiver can adjust and still catch it. 100% of overthrown balls are incomplete and he overthrows slot of these.
November 6th, 2022 at 9:27 AM ^
Disagree. He’s had plenty of balls 20+ yards on the money. He’s not amazing on those balls but rarely gets any help from the receivers.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:11 PM ^
Pass catchers man. Gotta do better. Feels like Edwards is the only one this year that can make a rough catch with a defender within breathing distance.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:38 PM ^
Biggest weak spot on the offense for sure.
November 6th, 2022 at 1:11 AM ^
Team seemed off, I wonder if it's illness. The whole offense seemed to struggle to get in sync.
November 6th, 2022 at 2:30 AM ^
I was wondering the same thing. I know Corum barfed at the start of the PSU game, but this time his face was flushed and he looked plain miserable. Against PSU he was laughing it off by the time he got to the sideline.
November 6th, 2022 at 6:21 AM ^
Let’s not forget all the Shartan BS these guys went through this week. I was expecting a team that came out flat and going through the motions and that’s what we got. JJ has and the receivers have got to be better, period. If Schiano and his 2 stars can rattle us then it’s only gonna get worse the last 2 weeks. The sky isn’t falling, but the Offense isn’t in its best form minus Corum and Edwards.
November 6th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
Agree they seemed off. Consecutive night games, off field distractions, late scratches at key positions. Not surprising the first half was shaky.
November 6th, 2022 at 6:35 AM ^
I thought it was telling that they brought in and targeted two freshmen (Walker and Morris) during non-garbage time. Morris made a big, contested 3rd down catch.
November 6th, 2022 at 8:47 AM ^
That was great to see.
November 7th, 2022 at 8:09 AM ^
Not to knock our veterans but they aren’t exactly making it easy for JJ. No separation and dropping passes here of late. Ronnie’s Ronnie, but Donovan seems to run the best routes and that’s concerning.
November 6th, 2022 at 7:39 AM ^
No separation
everyone wants downfield passing but it is not there many times
November 5th, 2022 at 11:11 PM ^
I think maybe it's time to stop saying we don't pass only because the run offense is clicking because when the run was struggling a bit in the first half, the pass offense couldn't come through. The pass offense just stinks and I don't know why. Feels like no receiver can get separation and JJs accuracy hasn't been as great either
November 5th, 2022 at 11:22 PM ^
JJ put a lot of balls on the receivers hands. There were many drops today
November 5th, 2022 at 11:11 PM ^
Got a lot of the throws we wanted to see, JJ made a lot of them pretty well, and there were a lot of drops.
Glad they’re working on it in live games. Tighten up the catches.
It was a day that was tough for a lot of teams. Take the W and move on.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:38 PM ^
CHAOS WEEK
November 6th, 2022 at 12:00 AM ^
Exactly. Only Michigan fans could whine this much about a 52-17 win.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:12 PM ^
SMILE LIKE YOU MEAN IT
November 5th, 2022 at 11:13 PM ^
Never any doubt.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:14 PM ^
Thank you Corum and Edwards!. JJ made a few good passes but there is still no breakout game. The play calling was much better. Red Zone plays were much better and Michigan scored TDs.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:16 PM ^
Need to work on the passing game in practice. Too many drops/poor throws for a team to win the CFP. Routes may need to be improved a bit.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:17 PM ^
Better learn to throw the ball consistently. Whatever the tree or concepts seem very subpar
November 5th, 2022 at 11:30 PM ^
Not surprising when you have 2 running coordinators coaching offense.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:34 PM ^
Yes, because an NFL QB for 10+ years doesn't understand route combinations
November 5th, 2022 at 11:42 PM ^
So either the WRs can't learn them or they are the most complex concepts in the history of mankind.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:17 PM ^
RZ offense improved. Even with missing players, they just blew out Rutgers. Rutgers came to play and BC didn't seem full go. Still had a heck of a game. JJ made nice throws but we're not caught. I thought he had more good throws today's even if they were not caught. Glad to see a WR getting a TD in RZ. We should be using DE as a receiver more. That guy is good. Hayes missing time made a difference in the first half. Overall, impressive second half and the coaches definitely worked on RZ. Still needs a bit tweaking but we are getting there. Rutgers weren't projected to be too bad in D. Happy to be in this position.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:18 PM ^
I mean…maybe if UM could have started prepping the WRs in literally and of the last 9 games, maybe the WRs could be a tad better? Very troubling to see the WRs play like thus far. But boy did the offense as a whole took a beating. Hopefully they can get healed up before The Game. Yikes.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:54 PM ^
The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. Second best is today. At least they got live fire reps this week.
November 6th, 2022 at 12:44 AM ^
Very true. It’s all we wanted to see so it’s in the right direction. It’s now just hoping JJ is good to go after those nasty hits in the first half and oline gets healthy.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:19 PM ^
I just hope we can get people back from injury. That said great second half. Completely manhandled Rutgers. Love this team.
November 6th, 2022 at 7:42 AM ^
Anyone get more detail about Keegan?
November 5th, 2022 at 11:21 PM ^
Need to run more of the 2nd half offense all 4 quarters
November 5th, 2022 at 11:22 PM ^
Catch the ball!!!
November 5th, 2022 at 11:23 PM ^
The receivers are weak. Too many drops. JJ is getting ball to them. There were at least five drops. Schoon and Walker. CJ and Ronnie hit their weekly quota.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:23 PM ^
Recievers had a rough game. They need to help JJ out on some of those catchable balls
November 5th, 2022 at 11:23 PM ^
Saw McCarthy throw a touchdown in the redzone tonight. That was something.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:25 PM ^
Way too many drops in this game.
And the offensive play calling is just gross right now. No rhythm in the passing game and it seemed like it was a struggle getting calls in tonight. Undefeated yes, but there’s some flashing warning signs that can’t be overlooked.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:25 PM ^
I’m starting to raise an eyebrow at Ron Bellamy. The WR position does not look good right now.
November 6th, 2022 at 7:43 AM ^
That's a charitable take.
November 5th, 2022 at 11:26 PM ^
We have a (p)ass game that falls short. Too many drops of catchable balls, poor route running that doesn’t allow for separation to help out JJ. Just not reliable under pressure and not a real threat, just serviceable.
