Rumor: Gattis Could be out as OC at Miami
- Has not been on campus lately to host recruits
- Miami QB coach left the team on Sunday, to take his old job as the OC of App. State. Thoughts are he had been passed over for the OC role for someone new.
- Rumors are Gattis has been interviewing at Iowa and could retake his old WR coach role at PSU
- Mike Ryan from the LeBatard Show and Canes insider, teased a change to the OC role could be coming on today's podcast.

All this in and out and in and out reminds me of someone... oh yeah, Gattis on a recruiting visit.

"Worthy" of an upvote.

His Mama agrees!

Unless he was a one pump chump.
He does have a thing for speed in spaces.

Pics or it didn't happen

So I've seen the things about Gattis sleeping with a recruits' mom. Did not know it was Xavier Worthy. Did Worthy committ because Gattis schtupt his mom or did he decommitt because of it?

Ok Boys and Girls, we are better than that. Some of it is funny, but it also reflects poorly on us as an institution if someone doesn't know the whole story. I know I don't know the real story and it seems kinda tasteless that the fan base would continue to circulate rumors around public social media forums like that. This is the kinda stuff you make up jokes about at the bar with your boys. It's hurtful and if I were a recruit I might think twice before I decided to join up, because some people just don't know where to draw the line. If it happened, it's over, everyone has moved on, and we should let it go. No sense in dragging this kid, because nobody would be more embarrassed than him. Keep it respectful family.

Lighten up Francis

You must be new to the internet.
January 17th, 2023 at 3:11 PM ^
Sorry, Mr. Gattis. Please still consider coming back as an offensive analyst this year.
January 17th, 2023 at 4:31 PM ^
Offensive being the operative word.
January 18th, 2023 at 8:38 AM ^
I thought analyst was the operative word here… Hey-oo!
am I doing this right?
January 17th, 2023 at 3:16 PM ^
Based on the chronology and logic surrounding Worthy's exit, it seems most likely he left for academic reasons and/or because his two buddies, Joe Milton and Giles Jackson, exited (somewhat bitterly) shortly before he did.

This^^
Until we know the hole story, we shouldn't comment on it.
January 17th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
We could probably dig a little and get to the bottom of this
January 18th, 2023 at 8:47 PM ^
tell me you meant "whole" story
January 17th, 2023 at 4:38 PM ^
You should not go on Twitter.
January 17th, 2023 at 6:38 PM ^
Sorry Dad.

I'm not sure we missed out on too much with Worthy- I watched the Texas TCU game and he had multiple drops on easy catches
January 17th, 2023 at 2:27 PM ^
They said during that broadcast that he was up there with the leaders in drop passes.
January 17th, 2023 at 5:41 PM ^
Braylon Edwards was always amongst the nations leaders in drops, partially because he got a lot of targets. But he made plays that obviously more than offset the drops. Sometimes you'll take a few more drops from a guy that makes plays.
January 17th, 2023 at 2:32 PM ^
Guy has 122 catches, 1,741 yards, and 21 TDs in his first two years. Come on now.
January 17th, 2023 at 2:33 PM ^
If you believe this then you really are Elon Musk. That's the only explanation for a horribly uninformed and universally terrible opinion on something.
January 17th, 2023 at 2:55 PM ^
Broyles award? More like Briles award, amirite?
January 18th, 2023 at 6:52 AM ^
and of course points aren't working in the presence of such a beautiful post
January 17th, 2023 at 1:29 PM ^
Imagine if he had stayed... No one would have known the wiser and he could have left for an HC position.
January 17th, 2023 at 1:49 PM ^
Got his feelings hurt that we correctly didn't see him as HC material and paid the price.
January 17th, 2023 at 2:15 PM ^
He must be leaving Miami. As a wise man once texted players on his way out…”in life I would never advise anyone to be where they are not wanted.” Can’t remember who that was…one of those quotes lost to history I suppose
January 17th, 2023 at 4:33 PM ^
I heard he is going to Maryland because he knows Locksley’s offense.
January 17th, 2023 at 5:12 PM ^
Know I'm a day late, but had to do it:
January 17th, 2023 at 6:26 PM ^
Like … Birmingham?
January 17th, 2023 at 2:13 PM ^
Yes- my impression of Gattis is that he's a good recruiter/WR coach but was not a positive for the team. I'm guessing Biff Poggi saw this and helped get him out of the program.
Also, he's a terrible OC and shouldn't "date" recruits' moms
January 17th, 2023 at 3:04 PM ^
His "speed in space" certainly left something to be desired
January 17th, 2023 at 1:33 PM ^
Awwwww, this give me many sads… 😢😢😢
January 17th, 2023 at 1:33 PM ^
Josh Gattis as an analyst at Michigan in 2023.
January 17th, 2023 at 1:37 PM ^
I suspect bridges were burned or severely damaged during and after last year's exit.
January 17th, 2023 at 4:01 PM ^
No probllem, they have a cream for his "burning bridge"
January 17th, 2023 at 1:48 PM ^
Doubt either side wants a return at this point.
January 17th, 2023 at 1:35 PM ^
Some people just make better position coaches and there is nothing wrong with that.
January 17th, 2023 at 1:42 PM ^
If that’s the case, we sure took our sweet time figuring that out. It surely is a big fall from grace if Gattis goes from Broyles winning OC here to out of the same job in a feckless Miami program in the span of a year.
January 17th, 2023 at 2:05 PM ^
Did we, though? 2019 was his first year ever coordinating, so you give a little slack there. 2020 was 2020. It's really 2021 where we expected to see him come into his own and he kinda did, I guess? I mean, we did well enough for him to win the Broyles award, but Jim Hermann also won the award. I think it was just the talent that overcame any coaching deficiencies in both those cases.
That said, I would love to see him as OC at Iowa lol
January 17th, 2023 at 3:03 PM ^
Gattis at Iowa needs to happen.
Fans demand wholesale change for a decade, it happens, they find out there’s a whole new way to be terrible at offense.
January 17th, 2023 at 3:05 PM ^
LOL Oh man how I would love to see this
January 17th, 2023 at 3:40 PM ^
It would be very Iowa to finally make a change on offense by hiring the guy just fired for being an abysmal failure at Miami
January 17th, 2023 at 5:02 PM ^
Miami's offense was not good, but it was still significantly better than Iowa's. If you combing Miami's offense with Iowa's defense last year, you go from Iowa being 27 in SP+ to Iowa being 10!
Iowa being 9-3 and B1G West champs with an offense coordinated by Gattis, led by Cade and All is absolutely a possibility.
January 17th, 2023 at 3:52 PM ^
Gattis offense in Iowa = Feed in Space. All kinds of feed: pasture forages, hays, silages, you name it.
January 17th, 2023 at 4:59 PM ^
Iowa's punter with a real shot at Heisman if this happens ?
