Risk Day 29 - It Appears That We Have Messed With Texas (A&M)

Last night, the Aggys decided to throw over 500 power at us in Arizona, which represented around 20% of their power overall and was by far their biggest allocation. Here's the thing with probabilities in this game, though.....the closer you get to 100%, the less of an impact additional power has on your odds, and the more exposed you become elsewhere. In other words, the Aggys were taking a big gamble on Arizona, and they lost. Big time.

Not only did we successfully defend Arizona with ~20% odds, but TAM lost almost all of Texas to us and the Longhorns. Indeed, they're down to just two territories in the Texas region. And it isn't as if this was an absurd result from a mathematical standpoint. The system calculated that, based on their allocation, they were expected to end up with 8.5 territories last night. The end result was 7 territories....so just a 1.5 territory difference.
