I’m still convinced an OSU staffer was recording Minter in last year's game from the sidelines. Why was the camera in the footage circulating with Stalions and Michigan players pointing up after Stroud’s audible focused directly on Minter? The Columbus TV station that broke the footage said it was the station’s recording, but why would the station record Jesse Minter? And why would they do it from a mobile phone camera? The recording was not a stable and professionally recorded video. Was an OSU staffer recording from the sideline and then passed the footage to the friendly Columbus station as proof that Michigan stole signs (which is legal)?

‪Not gonna lie I think this article sort of gives these other programs a free pass. It misses the mark a bit. As many of you mentioned, the reason this whole thing is important is because these actions are in violation of the B1G’s sportsmanship policy…which is the same policy UM is being accused of breaking.‬ Maybe I missed it twice through, but I didn’t see any mention of this in the article.

This proves beyond doubt that ESPN are just SEC slappys, looking to engineer the SEC into a second CFB spot.  Also starting to flog Ole Miss as a candidate for the second spot.  Or Alabama.  Nonsense

What this shows is that Conor Stalions likely violated the letter of the law but not the spirit of the law if there even is such a thing.  We are basically in the territory of 'bagels are legal unless you put cream cheese on them'

I mean, we've always been but this just confirms it.

I'm a little surprised the AP article hadn't made it to ESPN and The Athletic yet. I honestly really like Connely and much of the CFB content on The Athletic, and other than Stew Mandel thought the latter wasn't so bad in its coverage.

I also noticed this hasn't been mentioned AT ALL on 11W (I know I shouldn't be there but I was curious...)

How is this not news? How is it at all justifiable to not report this, even if it undercuts your narrative that this is the greatest scandal in Big Ten history?

This is gold.

I was concerned that we would have to vacate wins and championships based on "sportsmanship" and "unfair competitive advantage."

There is no fucking way they could justify that now.

One of the things I have seen any info on through all this is the mechanics of how signs actually work.

  • Who communicates what to whom and when for the sign to be given?
  • Who receives the signs and interprets them ? QB only on offense?  Middle linebacker only on defense?
  • How do they use this information?  Translate it into some other terminology and call out signals to the other players?
  • And then how does the other side react if they are able to read the other teams signs?  Who communicates what to whom and how?

Whatever is involved, how much time and effort does it take for everyone to learn the signs?  How much more time could the players and coaches devote to football technique, strategy and planning if they had secure, private wireless communications set up?
