Let’s just call a spade, a spade:

Everyone wanted Jim Harbaugh’s head on a plate and were waiting for the team to die on the field at Beaver Stadium so everyone could point and say “You see! He knew everything and without him and his magical sign stealer, Michigan is a fraud”.

And when Michigan squeezed PSU by running left or right for the entire 2nd half, the peanut gallery could no longer make its case that sideline signals have the dramatic effect on which they hoped they did. Fact is, this nothingburger has been cooking since the news broke before MSU and now Jim is ready to serve it up so everyone can take a bite. The premise that teams are still voluntarily playing Michigan and the powers that be have no intentions of removing the team from future games or post-season play should tell us all we need to know that this is a Harbaugh witch hunt but the townsfolk are quickly dispersing.

I don't think that can be definitively stated. On the contrary, I suspect that if Harbaugh and U-M prevail in their case on Friday (and thereafter - Friday is just a hearing on the TRO) then the B1G may amend its disciplinary action and suspend the team which is closer to the way the rules are written in the bylaws and Handbook.

The shit thing is that people like Finebaum are in this for the entertainment value. Sports and sports news is a comparative sideshow for most of the world.

So they don't care who they hurt, the object is the shilling and screaming that they call entertainment.

But this stuff is real, and it has consequences for Michigan.

I'd love to see Michigan pull the plug and change the narrative to 'Michigan willing to take a financial hit and leave Big Ten'. Sadly, I also realize that's more than likely a pipe dream.

I didn't watch the interview, I'm just going by the quotes people have posted here but I don't love the fact that ESPN appears to be part of this investigation, like a separate investigative arm of the Big Ten, with information funneling between them. If that's what happening here, that's bullshit.

I just watched the clip and it doesn't seem to me like he's explicitly saying ESPN got the information from the Big Ten. He just says, "We know things." It's possible they know things because, as he acknowledged, everyone does it and it's common knowledge, and so everyone knows. Saying that ESPN knows things just gives them some cache -- they're the network in the know, when really, they're all in the know. And you could interpret the word "elaborate" to mean that Conor Stalions had multiple people going to games for him, and that could be construed as elaborate, but it's nothing that we didn't already know.

If anyone was to look at this just with a pair of Stalion glasses you'd immediately see that right after the drip stopped, certain big-mouths started using the word,"allegedly!"  Furthermore, some dragon fire breathing loud mouths had some very incriminating things to say about our coach and university.  Finally, I'd surmise simply that some people have been told that litigation is probable and if I were you I'd shut my BIG &&)); mouth.

To a degree, sure but if someone tried to prevent you from doing the job you loved with many people counting on your expertise without properly taking the correct steps to ensure you deserved to be removed, you’d be pissed off too and want to clear the air.

It all goes back to allowing the proper investigation process to take place and let the evidence, or lack thereof, speak for itself. If you move on and let this shit just happen, you allow these actions to go unmerited. Fuck that. I won’t do what you tell me.

Like most college football fans, I watched all formats of college football on all networks, including ESPN, FOX, and CBS. This included pregame shows as well as post game shows as well as the college football final show on ESPN.
I truly enjoyed hearing different opinions on different networks, especially with Michigan’s return to the top of college football the past few years.
However, this changed after ESPN became obsessed with endless negative stories about Michigan football due to this so-called “scandal.”Now, like most of you, I avoid ESPN.
I also do not understand why Paul Finebaum is so obsessed with Michigan and Jim Harbaugh.
Over the years, he has consistently moved the goalposts on what Michigan and Jim Harbaugh needs to do in order to receive his praise.
Now that Michigan has beaten Ohio State two years in a row and has won the Big Ten championship and has gone to the CFP two years in a row, that’s still not good enough for Pete Finebaum. Pete always appears angry and almost seems personally insulted about this “scandal.”
I would love Jim Harbaugh to ask him, “ what’s your deal? And why so angry, man?”
I would love to see that on national television.

Get the heck out of here with that crap!  If ESPN knows more than they are reporting, surely they would have let it out by now, seeing as they clearly have an agenda against Michigan.

Does anybody really believe that ESPN is sitting on more evidence that will make Michigan look bad? I mean, seriously? If ESPN had that info, Pete Thamel would've shit out another article right away. If they are sitting on anything, it would instead be evidence that ruins their "Michigan are cheaters" narrative.

Although the manner in which Stalions conducted his "elaborate" sign stealing scheme is - in our collective view as Michigan fans - a distinction without a difference when compared to what all programs have done for years (and was done to Michigan prior to the BCG last year), it was definitely a violation of the rules if Stalions himself attended any games. It's a gray area at best if his friends and associates attended in his place. Do the rules make sense? No, they do not.
