Rational Takes - Who do we get?

Submitted by clarkiefromcanada on October 31st, 2020 at 3:58 PM

I'm a longer term season ticket holder (back when you could actually go to games and things like that). I'm upset with this outcome and you too are probably upset with this outcome.

Rational takes then: who do we get if the Harbaugh experiment hasn't worked? Looking back at RichRod, Hoke and now Harbaugh (and I acknowledge the this team is a lot better off than Hoke era) but not good enough.

So who do we get?

Do we sell our souls and get Urban. Honestly, on this day, I think I'm willing.

First call is to Bob Stoops, who allegedly was interested when we hired Harbaugh.

Next call is to Petersen, who is the John Beilein of football and may have recharged the batteries.

After that I think you call Cristobal.

Get someone from the SEC.  They understand winning at all costs.   This program needs a shot in the arm of serious desire to be a champion.  College football is the nfl minor leagues and you are either in it to win it or you are a spectator.  UM has been a spectator for 13 years and we're on the precipice of oblivion.

There are more guys out there than people realize. Tony Annesse at Ferris State could coach circles around Harbaugh. Face it -- to be great you have to be dirty, super passionate, or a football savant. Harbaugh is none of those things. Time to move on.

In my humble opinion, as an OSU fan that I realize you don’t probably care to hear from, Jeff Hafley is the guy I think Michigan should go after if they decide to move on from Harbaugh.  Young, energetic, amazing recruiter. He only coached one year at OSU and doesn’t really have deep ties there, so it’s not like trying to get a guy like Fickel or Urban. In a year or two, I think top schools will be chasing him, so Michigan could get ahead of it.

Urban Meyer was giddy and always is when Michigan is losing. He will not coach here.

I think Mark Stoops at Kentucky deserves a look.

Tom Herman unfortunately is entrenched at Texas now.

Anyways, we got our Michigan Man, I was an apologist for him the past few years. I am no longer. Does the program look outside the Michigan Family again?

As Much as I hate Luke Fickel at Cincy, He has a solid program there. Again, that's another Ohio guy so.

Just wish we could be stable at Coach and program for once. And go into Saturday without so much stress.

I vote Mark Stoops
