Rashan Gary in Car with team mates and weed

On ESPN there is an article confirming 3 Green Bay Packer pulled over for speeding and something else “Green” was in the car with them. It’s not legal in Wisconsin.....yet.

According to incident reports from the sheriff's office obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Smith and teammates Rashan Gary and Kingsley Keke were returning from a trip to Chicago when they were stopped for going 81 mph in a 60 mph zone. The officer who stopped them smelled marijuana and told the three men to get out of the car. They were briefly handcuffed.

According to the records, none of the men appeared to be high, and no marijuana was found on any of the men. The car was searched, however, and a duffel in the trunk was found to contain three hollowed-out cigars containing marijuana and a vaping device. Smith, who was the driver, took responsibility. The three were released after he was cited.

I got pulled over driving that same stretch at the same speed (80). Most likely got stopped in the construction zone in Racine County (yep, article confirms). Nice to have a football player salary because my ticket was $415.

Racine County is probably doubling their annual budget with all the tickets they are handing out on 94 while the highway expansion takes place.

As long as they weren't high while operating the car (because that's stupid and dangerous), who gives a shit?  Maybe it's because there was one of the most trafficked weed dispensaries in the country next to my kids' daycare for a couple of years, but I just can't get too hot-and-bothered by adults having some "dank nugs" or whatever the kids are calling it.

I've been handcuffed while my car was searched. Long story, and that was 20+ years ago, but not everything is a racial injustice. If an officer is face-down digging through your car, he's not watching you. So you can expect to be handcuffed as a precaution. It's not a big deal.

Honestly, I'm at the point where I think all drugs should be legal and high quality and plentiful. I'm tired of doing crappy cocaine. Especially after having a taste of the good stuff(in Bolivia)(YTB)

Of course all drugs should be legal. I legitimately can't think of one good reason why they shouldn't be.

There are infinite reasons why they should be legal, but imagine how amazing police-community relations would be... The police would genuinely only be concerned with crimes, and would actually be seen as friends of the community

Legalize all drugs. But... increase the penalty for anybody committing a crime while on them.  In Europe, they're a bit more chill about drugs and alcohol.  But there are places in Europe where, if you're caught drunk driving or high driving, you lose your license for life, period, end of story.

You want to do the drug? Fine.  But you accept the sterner consequences if you break the law while high.

That's a tad extreme. I'm not condoning drunk or high driving, but much of the extreme negative reaction to it is leftover from when it really was a major issue 40-50 years ago and they needed to scare people into compliance.

I've done a lot of different drugs at this point, and none of them have inspired me to do criminal acts. If addictive drugs were legal and pure, they would be much cheaper so people wouldn't have to steal or commit crimes to get them. As I've become older and seen more of the world, poverty is the biggest driver of criminal acts out there.

Driving while Black. Pulled over, handcuffed and car searched even though there was no maurijuana detected. Funny that.
