Ranking the QBs on Sunday at the Elite 11
Here's a nice summary of how the QBs are doing at the Elite 11. Quick blurb on Cade McNamara for those that don't want to click: "The Michigan commit put up a solid showing from start to finish with good ball placement. The Reno (Nev.) Damonte Ranch standout consistently spun a good ball, and might have been the surprise of the day of the quarterback group. We will see if the 6-foot-1, 206-pound McNamara can continue this good showing during seven-on-seven play." Hopefully the link will work.
Cade McNamara was rated the 3rd best QB over the weekend.
How much of his "lack of height" hindering his recruiting ranking?
Probably a little bit, but I think Cade is probably gonna get a very nice ratings boost pretty soon. He's significantly improved in the last few months and has been showing out at camps
Also, when does Cade McNamara performing well stop being a "surprise?" Like I've seen write ups like this at the least ~3 camps he's been to. When does it stop being surprising and people actually say that he's improved?
Sorry for threadjack--but how does a veteran guy post new content to the board on the new site?
When he grows another 2 or 3 inches. He's not of prototypical height therefore he must be inherently challenged, therefore anything he does is a surprise. Hey, not my logic, but it is to some.
Something to watch for, but there have been several QBs of similar size (Drew Brees, Russel Wilson, Baker Mayfield) lately that have shown if accurate then size doesn't matter. There's a joke in there somewhere...I think.
I'm having a hard time seeing it.
I feel bad for your wife but as long as she is ok with it.
Come on... Drew Brees isn’t of similar size. Dude is like 5’10” tops! He’s listed a 6’ (in heels). But he shows you don’t have to be tall to succeed at the position.
I think they were going for the fact short white QBs can be successful
Russell Wilson isn't white, unless I missed something
He's just got a heck of a tan
Damn, hit save before I finished...
*Lunch pail kid
Actually Drew Brees was measured at 6.025' at the combine without shoes so he barely met the minimum height that NFL teams look for.
Russ Wilson is definitely 5'11" according to the combine.
Both are exception to the rule, not the norm. For every Brees/Wilson, there are ton of short QBs who didn't succeed in the NFL.
Since, we're talking about college football, it kind of doesn't matter.
Plus he's got the whole "commit recruiter" thing going on which is big to snagging west coasters !
and he's got that whole cowboy thing going.
Sam Howell looks like he is a 5 year NFL vet (in terms of age, not necessarily skill level).
Does someone want to check and make sure he is not actually Baker Mayfield's older brother? :)
Crazy as it sounds but down here in Texas it’s not uncommon to have 8th graders driving.
Unfortunately I cannot access the create content buttons but for someone who can Bill Connelly posted his Michigan preview which would be a good topic for the board.

Haven't heard any knock from the recruiting aspect on his height. The real question on Cadevis his arm strength and ability to hit the deep ball consistently. Sounded like if he showed that he could he'd be a borderline top 100.
From henceforth he shall be known as Cadevis
Considering we haven't had any QB of recent memory to truly and consistently make the deep throws, I'm not all that concerned. Just give me someone that can consistently make the throws and be accurate and I'm good.
Glad he's making a good showing.
Let's hope he can do even better things when at Michigan.
I'll take all the Drew Brees'
McNamara is not the consummate stud physical specimen but he has everything else you want in a QB. When I have heard him interviewed the strength of his voice, his composure and intellect...he exudes confidence in all the right ways. Cade has the makings of a great college QB...don't think he has NFL physical talent...but we will see.
