Yeah, with the MAC cancelling I think it's inevitable. I'm just curious if they try to play in the spring and then have another season the following fall and how that would work.
It won’t. That’s why it’s not going to happen. There’s no practical way to justify that hit on their bodies.
Also as far as the virus is concerned the only things that will be materially different are going to be the possibility of herd immunity and the magical cure that will be delivered on 4 November. If complete and utter safety is the standard a Spring season will get panicked away as well. If they’re going to cancel Fall 2020, it’s going to be a long slog to Fall 2021.

Bush’s team got the ball rolling on a pandemic preparedness team and Obama finished it and had a plan in place. One of this first things Trump did was dismantle it. Bush and Obama admin officials are on record about this. How’s that?
They established a Pandemic Counsel to study situations and be aware of what was happening so there would be a systemic - and early - approach to any situation. The Obama administration scheduled a desktop event during the transition so that the Trump administration could learn about approaches and be ready - they decided that because it was coming from Obama, they should skip it. Then Trump disbanded it the counsel as unnecessary, Bush and Obama both sent scientists to work with the Chinese in their labs, so they could alert the US to anything that was amiss. Trump pulled the scientists out as part of his anti-Chinese meme. Should I go on? R. J., you were simply unready.

Obama left a playbook regarding pandemics that the current administration chose not to heed. There were pandemics during his time that caused them to prepare for it. Only idiots ignore science and expert opinion. This next election is a referendum on where the country is headed.

Your CNN and MSNBC talking points are getting old. Just because you keep regurgitating the same points don’t make them any more accurate. I’m 48 and had COVID. Have known many that have. Most cases are mild and the average death in Michigan is over age 75... The biggest failure is by our governor and many others putting recovering COVID patients in nursing homes. Is that Trumps fault?
It’s not all his fault. Our healthcare and public infrastructure have been crap for long before he was in office (under administrations of both parties). But he did not try at all to come up with a national unified response. And it’ll take a long time for us to recover from it. I don’t think a different president would have us in Europe’s and some of the Asian country’s situations - because of the reasons I state earlier - but they would have us in much better shape IMO
Not that I think I disagree you, but there’s one party that wants better public health infrastructure and the other that doesn’t. Saying it’s been bad under both administrations, while true, isn’t an accurate representation.
It is an accurate representation. Presidents of both parties since the mid 60s have been stripping public infrastructure more than building it up. One says they want to improve it but always fail to offer up competent paths to getting there. Most publicly funded robust programs poll well with all Americans. And yet very few even entertain those things.
