Plans with no March Madness
It surprised me, but that loss actually felt like it took a weight off my shoulders. Michigan did not have a particularly good basketball team this year, and that, thankfully, is a rarity. This time of the year is typically reserved for day-drinking during basketball games, but with Michigan out, I really am not going to care about the tournament. And I’m broke! So no travel planned. So to those similarly situated, what’s the plan.
1. Short game- we are gonna get a thaw here soon, let’s get those wedges out early.
2. Work- Usually work on the Penske file all of March. I can turn this around now! March can be my come back month.
3. House of the Dragon - I gotta watch this thing at some point right?
Gonna be a weird March but it will pass.
This season didn’t go our way, but let’s not get carried away. We have become a bit spoiled as far as the tourney goes. Eventually we were going to have to sit one out.
We’ll be back. Go Blue.
Watch as many games from opening tip on Tuesday until the final basket of the Championship game.
I watched without michigan in the tourney between 2000-2007, and by god I’ll do it again.
I hope this is not the start of another 7 year drought.
I’ll still watch March Madness, but with much less passion and interest. Definitely is an unfamiliar feeling being out of hope so early in March. It has become one my favorite months of the year lately.
This team has so many flaws but the biggest one is Jett Howard. The team started playing better and found some chemistry without him. Coach Howard knew that and let him play anyway. So Juwan put the development of his son ahead of what was truly best for the team and that’s despicable as a coach
Who should have played his minutes? I’m sick of the Jett hate. This team had many issues and Jett was not the downfall of this team.
Joey Baker. Jett was not the downfall alone but he was a part of it. It is impossible to play good defense if one guy is completely lost even if the other four play well. Also, I am sure dribbling around the top of the three point line is good offense since he scored a lot of points right?
He actually did score a lot of points this season. Baker? Lol, Baker was awful. He didn’t play any defense either and couldn’t score. Any other suggestions?
I want to see how the Big-10 teams will do. I won't watch every play in every game but will any of them make the Sweet 16? Michigan was the only team to do it last year.
I want to see Sparty go down in either game 1 or 2, that's for sure. #2 hated team is Illinois. Loved it when they lost to St Mary's for the best team in the state of Illinois a few years ago.
Purdue also made the sweet 16, where they infamously lost to the St. Peters Peacocks.
Still very much watching March Madness. Michigan being in the tournament or not, its still one of the best postseasons in American sports. If not the best. I won't be as enamored with it this year with Michigan not being there, but I'm still watching. Especially the first weekend where there are usually some pretty good upsets.
Otherwise, gearing up the final season of Succession. BUCKLE UP, F**KLEHEADS!!
I would prefer to “try and figure out Michigan’s path through The Dance” than any alternative.
I could care less about the rest of the B1G tourney or the men's NCAA tourney. Living in Iowa City I'm going to be rooting for Caitlin Clark and the women Hawks in their NCAA tourney--should be a 2 seed. She's the real deal.
Otherwise doing some traveling, college visits in the pacific NW for the youngest, then overseas for an Ann Arbor childhood friend's son's wedding. By the time I get back this stupid snow should have stopped and I'll be on my bike in no time. Cheers!
March madness brackets are everywhere if you live in the Midwest. Sports are just not as important on the east coast so I probably won’t notice it if I don’t watch.
Thanks to FanDuel, still watching March Madness to prolong the misery and likely lose money.
Michigan hockey plays in March.
Ask your MSU friends what they do during the CFP every year?
Or ask your MSU friends what they do after the first weekend of the NCAAs every year?
Living in the Milwaukee area, I'm all in on Marquette now. #backuprootinginterest
I am all in on the short game. I have played 4 outdoor rounds in West Michigan already in 2023. 89-89-91-95. There is work to be done
- Finish off Risk with a dominating win over oSu and aTm.
- Rabbit and squirrel season goes until the end of March.
- The spring coho run is early and has been so hot that Lake Michigan is boiling. Fish that until its done.
- Then the steelhead show up. In fact, I've had 2 in the creek in my backyard so far, one passing through and one building a bed. Unfortunately the creek is closed to fishing.
- Turkey season starts in about 6 weeks. Gotta practice calling.
need pictures of fish.
i can help you with the turkey calling. one of my favorite things in hunting.
I’m going to watch the tournament and get ready for Morel mushroom season!
No Shining Moment
SO MUCH TO DO AND SEE; SO LITTLE TIME
Watch

Work
Income tax returns. Yard work. 15-20,000+ steps a day. Keep losing weight.
Try to follow spring football camp closer. Do a big countdown to the season opener.
I work Thursday afternoon at a local bar and take Friday off. Tuesday before the tournament we draft 10 players from the tournament and most points win biggest. Pay out top 3. Also have a draft board with final scores that pays out money. I'm invested in most games. It's the best first weekend in sports IMO!
I will get a head start on following the Tigers for the upcoming baseball season. This basketball team prepared me for disappointments, so transferring right over to watching the Tigers should be pretty easy.
I’ve probably said I would trade any and all basketball success to beat OSU and be a CFP participant in football. I’m sure I’m not the only one to at least think it, if not say it. The basketball gods came to collect this year and I’m not mad about it. Although I still think we have a chance to make the tournament and I will be watching selection Sunday prepared for the seemingly inevitable disappointment.
Watch the Oscars instead of the selection show.
Um, hockey?

I will still watch the tournament. March Madness is one of those events I just can’t ignore. I won’t let this years Michigan team ruin that for me. I feel as though I owe it to my self to enjoy the tournament after having my eyes bleed for 32 games this season.
