Washington and Texas fighting to see who gets to lose to Michigan.

Here's a thread for us to comment on it.

The rule which allows the defense to force a delay of game by running slowly off the field needs to be changed this summer.  Instead of basing it on the defense's substitution speed, there should be objective limits:  the offense must complete its substitutions with 10 seconds remaining on the game clock; the ball can't be snapped within 7 seconds after the last offensive substitution.  If the defense can't get their guys in position within 7 seconds, too bad for them.

Tejas DB's are all 15 yards off the line, just letting UW receivers run down the field. Would assume we'll try jamming within 5 yards to give our DL more time to get a rush.

Neither of these teams has the ‘Bama defense, and if we can avoid shooting ourselves in the feet on offense and special teams, we should be able to score against either.  I think Penix & Co are the scarier offense, but probably with the slightly worse defense.

Penix has been really good tonight.  Getting ball out quick; making good calls on reads and keeps, etc.  Full letter grade better than the next best QB we’ve played this year.

Who is everyone’s choice to play in the championship and why? I’m starting to lean Texas because Ewers looks like he could be confused a lot by our defensive shemes and they aren’t as explosive as Washington. Penix is getting the ball out quickly to avoid the Texas defensive line.

I wanted UW when I thought Texas was better. Now that I think UW is better, I want Texas.

But in seriousness, I do think the UM defensive strengths line up well against UW. We can limit the run with a light box and play the OSU defense. Try to keep them in the mid 20s. But Penix is gong to be very tough to stop for 4 quarters

Offensively, I think we can run the ball against their front.
