If Michigan gets slated for Pasadena, I’m really hoping it’s not against USC.
I’m not sure how good USC’s defense is, but Caleb Williams is giving off serious Pat Mahomes vibes.
October 15th, 2022 at 9:34 PM ^
ND barely had 100 yds of offense, total, in the first half. at home. against a 1-4 stanford team.
October 15th, 2022 at 9:39 PM ^
I love our blindness to our own bias. Can you imagine if we just beat, in any fashion, ALABAMA? this thread would be a wall of we should be#1 or the world is unfair.
October 15th, 2022 at 9:50 PM ^
If we beat a Bama team that had already survived two very, very close calls against unranked opponents?
We'd be thrilled, but acknowledge that this Bama team probably isn't quite up to its usual standard.
(We'd also be freaking out about our D and worried about what OSU would do.)
October 15th, 2022 at 9:58 PM ^
Haha. Amazing
October 15th, 2022 at 9:44 PM ^
Utah's Rising is a cold-blooded assassin. He's a blast to watch.
October 15th, 2022 at 9:47 PM ^
Alright, Caleb Williams is also pretty good.
October 15th, 2022 at 9:58 PM ^
Oof, the Nebraska QB had his guy open by a mile to tie the game and airmailed it. 27-23 Purdue.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:19 PM ^
That’s a tough roughing the passer call in the UF-LSU game. UF had the int and would have had 5+ minutes to drive and try to tie. Instead LSU looks like they’re gonna run it out.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:32 PM ^
A lot of tight games down the stretch - USC-Utah, Stanford-ND, Purdue-Nebraska
October 15th, 2022 at 10:32 PM ^
Thank GOODNESS the Irish have Freeman to help rebuild last year's 11-2 team into a garbage 6-6 mess.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:57 PM ^
I have to wonder if all those kids who are in ND's class this year will stick around - I'm sure Freeman is selling playing time and prior success but they have looked really poorly prepared and coached in a lot of these games and it's not like a top-100 kid doesn't have options beyond a religious school in a boring-ass part of Indiana.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:18 PM ^
ND should go ahead and sign a 10 year contract for 95 million dollars. Would love it if that happens.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:46 PM ^
Stanford was one first down away from clinching the game, but Shaw preferred to have ND burn its timeouts and punt. I think I know how this ends.
EDIT: Stanford!!!
October 15th, 2022 at 10:53 PM ^
Good thing you thought wrong!
October 15th, 2022 at 10:46 PM ^
USC getting the announcer treatment and getting away with an insanely blatant hold inside their own end zone.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:50 PM ^
upset alert. stanford ball, up 16-14 with a minute left at ND. irish going down...
October 15th, 2022 at 10:51 PM ^
Freeman going to lose to a terrible 1-4 Stanford team at home hahahahahaha
October 15th, 2022 at 10:54 PM ^
ND being this bad really is a surprise - they were a good team last year and it's not like they lost a ton of talent. I didn't think they were a top-10 team or whatever they were to start the year but it's pretty crazy they might not make a bowl game this year.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:52 PM ^
Eat a dick, ND!!
October 15th, 2022 at 10:52 PM ^
Michigan wins!
ND loses!
OSU . . . didn't win!
We just needed Wisconsin to take care of business and it would have been perfect. Still a great day.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:01 PM ^
This brings up another point: the best team OSU has played so far is Toledo. ND, MSU, and Wisc have all proven to be garbage. Arkansas State and Rutgers were expected to be from the start.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:54 PM ^
Lloyd Carr is honored at Michigan... And ND loses to a 1-4 Stanford.
Hope you enjoyed that CJ.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:21 PM ^
I wish CJ well. I understand if he doesn't want to live in other's shadows. But, he shouldn't go to ND so he can have a better career. Go out to another conference.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:55 PM ^
Lol David Shaw basically told Notre Dame "I dare you to drive the field and score the game winning field goal" and Notre Dame said "No, I don't think I will"
October 15th, 2022 at 10:56 PM ^
Yay!!!! Fuck Notre Dame!!!
October 15th, 2022 at 10:57 PM ^
It's not just that Notre Dame lost at home to a shitty team. It's that ND actually looked like the slower and less creative team -- which is hard to do against a David Shaw team. They've still got (at least) 2 more likely losses on their schedule.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:58 PM ^
Notre Dame down another notch. About time for some of their recruits to turn Maize and Blue.
October 15th, 2022 at 10:59 PM ^
Notre Dame losing was the cherry on top for the day.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:00 PM ^
Purdue's O'Connell looks so skinny, but he's tough. Great throw under pressure to seal the deal.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:04 PM ^
The 'Noles aren't dead yet! Now 34-28 late in the fourth. We're definitely leapfrogging Clemson now.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:06 PM ^
Don't look now but FSU giving Clemson a fight. I remain unimpressed by Clemson and all of their "statement" wins have looked less impressive as NC State got worked over by Syracuse and Wake Forest looks like all gas/no brakes.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:15 PM ^
On ESPNU, Memphis and ECU are playing one of those wacky overtime marathons. Going to 4th OT.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:44 PM ^
USC Utah is quite a game. That goal line tackle on 3rd down by usc was incredible. Utah 4th and goal on 1 to tie it…
October 15th, 2022 at 11:46 PM ^
Utah scores! And then converts a 2 point conversion to lead 43-42! USC has 48 seconds to kick a field goal - seems like more than enough time, unfortunately. Let’s go Utes D…
October 15th, 2022 at 11:47 PM ^
Yeah, unfortunately I worry that you’re right. Thank goodness for the flag on the kickoff return.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:47 PM ^
Love the call to go for 2. Gutsy play by Rising. Didn’t look good from the snap
October 16th, 2022 at 12:01 AM ^
It sure turned out well for Utah!
October 15th, 2022 at 11:48 PM ^
UTAH just convert 2 to take a 2 point lead with 48 seconds left.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:49 PM ^
This USC / Utah game is a fucking blast.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:49 PM ^
Stupid penalty by USC
October 15th, 2022 at 11:50 PM ^
BTW, I hate teams that won’t put a names on the back of the jerseys. I know the whole “play for the name on the front” but the names on the back are to help the fans know who’s out there.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:52 PM ^
The most non-prevent defense in this situation I have ever seen.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:52 PM ^
The refs have made so many calls in this 4th quarter. USC with a tiny chance left…
October 15th, 2022 at 11:53 PM ^
That return was so huge.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:54 PM ^
That is a dubious penalty on UTAH
October 15th, 2022 at 11:55 PM ^
Thought USC deserved a late hit penalty there, but at a minimum I’m glad that Utah’s sojourn with the ball wiped out half of the remaining time.
Looks like they got Spartan Bob on the clock at Rice-Eccles though.
October 15th, 2022 at 11:55 PM ^
Ridiculous reffing gaffe gives USC extra time… 🙄
October 15th, 2022 at 11:56 PM ^
Wow, that inadvertent whistle is so bad this feels like a hockey game. Next comes the “intent to blow the whistle” call, I assume.
