OT: Wings Win Opener

Wings start the Yzerman era with a win on the road in Nashville. Michigan alum Dylan Larkin played very well and had a nice goal. I hope this signals a better season after the last few years of bad hockey and no playoffs.

The Larkin - Mantha - Bertuzzi line was spectacular. They could be special this year but not sure if they have much behind them. Jimmy Howard was very solid. The defense could still be a liability.

Can't wait for the likes of Veleno, Seidler, Rasmussen, Zadina, etc. to mature and stick with the Wings. Then they could be very good.

I just got back from the game - Glendenning also had a goal and an assist! Fantastic win. Preds had more shots on goal than Jimmy Howard's age. For a second, I really thought they were going to get to 50.

This game was awesome! We have been wandering in the desert that is (the state of) Michigan sports for all of 2019, and this was like finding the oasis! That first line was great, Howard played better than I thought he would, and we beat a very good team on the road!

Now tonight another test with Dallas for the home opener.

I said it the other day, but watch for this team to exceed expectations and make the playoffs.

Everyone gets an upvote!

Young talent. This is Detroit's best chance for a championship in the big 4 sports. Gonna take a few years. But should be fun watching them work their way to the top.
