Goddamn, I hate saying anything positive about the $EC, but this is really cool. They're covering full tuition and fees.

Holy shit. I'm sure there are some caveats to that offer, but I wouldn't go to a single day of high school if I had that offer in my back pocket lmaoooo
September 12th, 2019 at 6:20 PM ^
Kinda underestimating the amount of 'book learnin' that takes place in HS there eh?
September 12th, 2019 at 6:22 PM ^
College might be a bit tough for you academically in that case.
September 12th, 2019 at 6:32 PM ^
At an SEC school though?
September 12th, 2019 at 8:06 PM ^
Vanderbilt, it ain't.
September 12th, 2019 at 6:38 PM ^
The offer has a stipulation that he meets all admission requirements, so he can’t just mail it in
September 12th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
We're talking about an SEC school here. All he needs is a pulse and a pair of pants.
September 12th, 2019 at 7:24 PM ^
You're being ridiculous and bigoted against the south.
He obviously also needs a banjo.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:08 PM ^
I assume he has one already.
September 12th, 2019 at 7:37 PM ^
Do overalls count as pants?
September 12th, 2019 at 8:01 PM ^
Only if they're splattered with tobacco juice and/or motor oil.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:38 PM ^
Bonus points if worn without a shirt.
September 13th, 2019 at 1:18 AM ^
And one strap hanging down.
September 13th, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
According to an outside source, they count as jorts
September 13th, 2019 at 10:21 AM ^
I assume that jorts count as pants from I-70 and south (note I-70 runs through Columbus)
September 13th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
And I should have scrolled one more comment down ??♂️
September 12th, 2019 at 6:25 PM ^
"Life Champions" rings should be awarded to someone at UT for this.
September 12th, 2019 at 6:50 PM ^
...damn if only I made my own Harvard shirt in elementary school
September 12th, 2019 at 6:55 PM ^
I love college football.
September 12th, 2019 at 6:57 PM ^
In fairness, not everybody in the SEC has that "pack mentality." A lot of them see it for what it is: riding on the coattails of Bama.
September 12th, 2019 at 7:04 PM ^
Tennessee needs some good publicity, because their football team is a complete tire fire this year.
September 12th, 2019 at 7:17 PM ^
Well, by far my favorite SEC team. Definitely gained a fan in me, they went above and beyond throughout the entirety of this story
September 12th, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
A nice big fuck you to the people who bullied him.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:23 PM ^
Fucking school districts are so pansy assed these days(or hurting for money). They won't kick the bullies out of school. They just need to talk to the bullies and all will be ok.
They have all these 'no bullying' 'stop bullying' to make people happy and act like they're doing something about it.
Kick their fuckin ass out of school!
September 12th, 2019 at 9:42 PM ^
As I understand, he wasn't physically harmed, just teased by other kids over the shirt. Teasing isn't nice, but elementary kids tend to do that sometimes. Would you really expel someone over that?
September 12th, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
Kick kids out of school for teasing someone? What a snowflake.
September 12th, 2019 at 10:54 PM ^
First off, you can shove your snowflake up your ass.
I was talking about the broader issue of bullying in schools where pansy assed districts won't do anything to bullies, but have campaigns to stop bullying to feel good. Some bullied(sp?) kids resort to suicide. Really disturbing.
Get the bullies out of our schools.
September 12th, 2019 at 11:09 PM ^
So how many of these kids should get their ass kicked out of school?
September 13th, 2019 at 3:04 PM ^
Do you realize you are directing this towards second grade girls?
September 12th, 2019 at 8:02 PM ^
What a great p.r. move by the school, and a great leg up for a kid from a struggling family. That's a win win.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:05 PM ^
If anyone wants me to bully their kid about an ivy league shirt they make I'm sure we can work out some kind of deal....
September 12th, 2019 at 10:30 PM ^
OK, so a 4th-grader gets teased in the lunch room by a couple of other 4th graders over the shirt he's wearing, and cries for a bit. That sucks for him, especially since he made the shirt. Definitely mean on the part of the girls. I'm glad his teacher sympathized with him.
But like . . . we're on the verge of giving the kid a Purple Heart over something that 9-year-olds do to each other all the time. Who's to say this boy himself hasn't teased anyone? Did UT do a background check?
September 13th, 2019 at 12:20 AM ^
It's an American success story. I want to check in on this story in a decade.
September 12th, 2019 at 11:32 PM ^
Turns out you only need a 4th grade education to get into UT.
September 13th, 2019 at 10:42 AM ^
The kid will eventually enroll at Stanford.
September 13th, 2019 at 7:13 AM ^
Somewhere near Hollywood, Felicity Huffman is getting a very strange new idea.
September 13th, 2019 at 7:50 AM ^
Why use God's name? Do you even believe in him?
September 13th, 2019 at 8:57 AM ^
Yes he does have to qualify academically.
September 13th, 2019 at 11:54 AM ^
I'd rather just have some free t-shirts. ?
