OT: Stupid Idiots plotting to overthrow the gov't get caught by FBI. [LOCKED]

Submitted by JamesBondHerpesMeds on October 8th, 2020 at 12:14 PM

There's no other way, really, to describe a bunch of stupid neckbeards gathering in a field to try and overthrow the Governor, then getting caught by the FBI trying to do it.

As smitten with the Mitten as we all are...these boys are dumb, and they should feel dumb.

[Locking this up.  I just took a quick 3-minute scan thru 6 pages and it's obvious the thread had long-ago degenerated into mostly mud-slinging.]

Hannity has always been that way. ALWAYS. And I don't watch that poop.

But Fox in general has more balanced coverage on most days.
CNN is strictly the get Trump channel. They couldn't do news if they wanted to because they are so blinded by the hatred.

If you want straight news, http://www.newsnationnow.com
They do live news from 8-11 every night and the site is legit straight news.

Fox News has balanced coverage?

Bret Baier
Neil Cavuto
Maria Bartiromo
Steve Doocy
Dan Bongino
Sean Hannity
Tucker Carlson
Jeanine Pirro

These are the people you think present balanced news programs?

As far as CNN being a "get Trump channel", that's rather hard to balance with the hundreds of hours of free air time they gave him in the last election and the dozen or so of his spokespeople they hired to defend him because no mainstream Republican would do it.

Their shift in tone lately has followed his disastrous response to essentially every major hurdle that has sprung up during his tenure. It isn't their job to be nice to him, but to report what he does.

Not sure why you got downvoted. You're probably right. The most that would've been uttered is a "Well its just really sad what happened over there." And that's about it.

Same guy who literally told a bunch of white supremacists, on national television, to be on stand by.

I would add that Timothy McVeigh was also an idiot--who nonetheless managed to kill hundreds of people in Oklahoma City in the second worst act of terrorism committed on American soil.

By idiot, I mean that shortly after the bombing McVeigh was pulled over for not having a license plate, and then arrested for having an illegal weapon. He wasn't identified as the bomber for three days after the bombing.

So no, please don't trivialize this.

You know, we can joke all we want, but this is actually very disturbing.  Can anyone imagine if this were to actually have happened.  The hatred in this country has spilled over into unsafe levels.  I'm very afraid of what may happen in the next year or two.  I never imagined I'd see things like this in my lifetime

When T loses, he will not concede and will fight the ‘rigged election’ all the way to the Supreme Court.  Assuming they do the right thing and not try to influence the outcome, he will be forced out of the White House kicking and screaming.  He will then spend the next four years continuing to dominate Twitter, Fox News/OAN and spreading conspiracy theories that will make ‘Birtherism’ look quaint.

He isn’t going anywhere and I would be very surprised if he didn’t just keep the campaign rallies going with the assumption he will be the nominee again in 2024.  Regardless of the outcome of this election, it doesn’t get better from here culturally or politically.

God help us all.

The idea that he will not shut up sounds completely valid.  He will start campaigning for 2024.  Everything will be a persecution against him, pushing the idea on these same sort of people that the government is against them because they're on the same side.

Don't disagree with what his behavior will probably be, but even if he keeps acting as if he'd be the nominee in 2024, he'd be what, 79 years old at that point? I can hardly believe Democrats ended up with Biden at 77...

I guess I have a hard time seeing Republicans hitching their wagon to that horse again, but my fear is that someone with more political savvy (read: any) shows up to follow this shit through to its logical conclusion.

ya but once he's not president anymore the justice department will no longer be bound by their inability to prosecute him. they could finally charge him with stuff from the ukraine deal or inciting riots if he advocates violence. hell, they may even get him for tax evasion they way that is shaping up

I mean, if Kamala could just show her birth certificate, taken with newspaper from that day in frame, with 3 republican government officials from three different red states, notarized by Trump, we could take a first step and putting this to rest.

I agree with most of your scenario above, but for one thing;

He won't go kicking and screaming. He'll try everything he can, Barr, the S.C., inciting violence, whatever... but when/if it becomes clear to him it isn't going to work, he will resign so Pence can pardon him. It wouldn't protect him from everything, but it would be his "smartest" move, according to the way he seems to think (my take, anyway).

Sadly, I don't think that will be the case.  The hatred and division is not going to just disappear with a Biden win.  Maybe he can get things to change gradually over a few years, but to think everything just turns to sunshine overnight is a pipe dream.  This country has some huge wounds right now that will take years to heal.

I don’t think the vast majority of Americans hate anyone.  There are extreme hate groups of course, but regular people who work jobs and care about their family don’t hate anyone.

Systems have been put in place over the past 25 years that create the divisions, mostly online.  Facebook, Cable News, Political Blogs, iPhones and other ‘news’ apps all drive division in the name of eye balls and profits.

Our only hope would be for most people to realize hating ‘the other side’ accomplishes nothing and makes their life more miserable.  Fingers crossed that happens someday.

The premise of the 2nd Amendment is so outdated. If you’re actually staging an armed rebellion against the government you’ll just get drone bombed to oblivion.

MGoNukeE

October 8th, 2020 at 2:55 PM ^

Oh no doubt. Especially if said armed rebellion takes place in a crowded urban environment. I wonder what the news reports would look like...

"Necessary drone strike kills rebel insurgence. Hundreds of necessary civilian losses is reminder to report your neighbors to the proper authorities so they don't gather for an armed rebellion. World applauds US Government for humane treatment of its citizens."

Seems like they should be charged with treason.  Hang them or send them to the supermax for the rest of their lives.

1) Antifa isn’t a group.

What the hell is it then? An army? A militia?  I don’t understand this at all.

2) the people who are antifa aren’t calling to violently overthrow state governments.

This is correct in that they are ACTIVELY violently attempting to overthrow state governments.

3) Fair, and it is a disturbing development. That said, Antifa and BLM are the ones that have actually killed and attempted to kill more members of the government (police)

"antifa" is an idea at best.

It's incredibly sad that you've fallen for the baseless rhetoric blaming antifa for every last bit of violence in the US over the past year.

That said, Antifa and BLM are the ones that have actually killed and attempted to kill more members of the government (police)

Prove it. You will fail. I predict you'll point at some case and scream "a black person killed police officer X, therefore BLM is responsible."

Did you bother to read that article?

Lemley said he doesn't know any of the people who have been arrested in connection with the arson at the courthouse. He denies that he incited violence, saying instead he was with a community frustrated with the system.

In addition, the intent of the arson was NOT to "overthrow government" and the buildings were evidently knowingly empty when burned. You're a clown.

Did you even read what you said? Newsflash: destroying infrastructure symbolizing the government is done for the purpose of calling people into action against it. Or maybe you didn't see the movie "V for Vendetta", or you think the destruction of statues of Robert E Lee/Thomas Jefferson has no significance whatsoever.

Pot meet kettle.

Robert E Lee was against people buildings statues in his honor.  He hoped Americans could put the past behind them and work together.

Most Confederate monuments were constructed decades after the Civil War, in an attempt to show people of color who was boss when people of color began to be successful in seeking equal rights.
