OT: Stupid Idiots plotting to overthrow the gov't get caught by FBI. [LOCKED]

Submitted by JamesBondHerpesMeds on October 8th, 2020 at 12:14 PM

There's no other way, really, to describe a bunch of stupid neckbeards gathering in a field to try and overthrow the Governor, then getting caught by the FBI trying to do it.

As smitten with the Mitten as we all are...these boys are dumb, and they should feel dumb.

[Locking this up.  I just took a quick 3-minute scan thru 6 pages and it's obvious the thread had long-ago degenerated into mostly mud-slinging.]

Not sure what you were watching all summer but I, and most everybody else, saw and sees far-left violence all over the place, militant blm violence and threats of violence, intimidation etc.
A tiny fraction of the violence can be attributed to far-right lunatics. Just a fact man.

I live and work in downtown Portland. I walk through protests all the time. Protesters aren't committing acts of violence. The police attack protesters without provocation on a nightly basis. Occasionally proud boys and people in trucks attack protesters. I never see protesters committing acts of violence.

It was on the tele every night. Burning, looting, smashing windows, targeting police with projectiles, fireworks used as weapons, and yes, shootings and death. So sounds like you were with the peaceful protestors. :|

My god use your brain...'it was on the tele' is one of the lamest reasons to believe anything in this day and age. That's not much better than 'I saw it on the internet'...or 'the President said it'.

You're lumping a whole lot of different things together. All of the things that you have listed have happened at one time or another. I roundly condemn property destruction and acts of violence. I also am upset that protesters that do not engage in acts of violence attempt to shield those that do from arrest.

There have also been massive demonstrations consisting of thousands of people when none of the things that you listed have occurred.

The police have also indiscriminately targeted protesters and non protesters alike with the use of violent tactics and chemical agents on nights when none of the things that you have listed have occurred.

To be clear, I do not engage in protests and do not support the goals of the protesters, let alone their tactics. But it is outrageous and disingenuous to call them terrorists.

I don't think most of BLM are terrorists either but they certainly have an agenda well beyond making things better for black folks.

Defunding police, reparations, and full on socialism......

It's the same nonsense that has come before about this notion that everyone needs to start at the same starting line in life. It's just not reality but some people still want to try to make it happen by telling everyone what they can and cannot do, what they can and cannot have. Controlling the people by controlling their bank accounts essentially. Redistribute the money to everyone equally. That's what it comes down to when you strip away all the BS.

And most people in Michigan on the even far right who oppose any sort of lockdown don't condone wacky "lets kidnap the GOV". I know this even from my far left perch.

Dare I say there are good people on both sides of the spectrum. (and if you don't believe me there were 2 of these far right people who acted as inside informants because violence isn't the answer).

Get out and VOTE.

The fringe on both sides get way too much attention for their moronic activities.  These losers deserve their fate and have to deal with the fact they are complete losers.  However, the same applies to the Darth Vader hat wearing wannabes on the other side who are blinding cops, burning buildings and also causing havoc.

The solution is to round up all these idiots and put them on an island together and let them have at it. No room for them on either side.

Yes, it is a fantasy.

Even Ken Cuccinelli testified to Ted Cruz that it was temporary. No permanent blindness. Unlike the journalists and protestors that cops shot and permanently blinded with rubber bullets and CS canisters.

“We’ve had a number of officers who have days-long blindness. So far they’ve all kind of come back, if you will," Cuccinelli said during a Senate hearing last month. "You also get what’s called flash blindness, think of it as the old Kodak cameras where you’d get that blue spot and you can’t quite see your entire field of vision for a period of time."

Looks like it was indeed a fox news fantasy. How about that?

Honestly, the first thing I thought about when I heard the news was wondering if any mgobloggers were involved.  There were a lot of very loud, angry voices on here about Whitmer in May and June, specifically with regards to gym closings, which seems to have been a primary motivation in the anger of the accused.

So I think it's relevant.

Charged in the U.S. District Court in the western district of Michigan are: Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta, according to a criminal complaint. They are charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, according to the complaint.

So in other words, this plot was brought to you by Fox & Friends.

Doing multiple stakeouts of someone's vacation home and plotting how you'd take her to a remote place in Wisconsin to "stand trial" doesn't sound like something a bunch of "idiots" would do as much as "homegrown terrorists foiled by the FBI".  That goes beyond simply talking on FB, and we need to stop minimizing this type of behavior with what is effectively "boys will be boys" responses.  An idiot is Plaxico Burress shooting himself in the leg with his own gun at a club; this was a conspiracy to kidnap and possibly murder a governor because you don't like how she does her job.

I'm assigning partial blame where it belongs. Fox News, especially in prime time, is a vector for the spreading of white nationalist talking points. All you have to do is read any scholarly work on what Tucker Carlson's show is about. And yes, obviously facebook is a point of dissemination for white nationalism and blood-libel conspiracies like Q.
