OT: Star Wars - The Force Awakens MNF trailer

https://youtu.be/sGbxmsDFVnE Choo Choo, all aboard the hype train. I'm so wary after the prequels, but this looks legit, cautious optimism is rapidly giving way to unbridled anticipation. (yes, I know this technically violates the in-season OT rule, but it's the bye week and we all need a little diversion right now) Edit: Can someone please assist with the embed? Can't figure it out on mobile.

Missed out on the 7:30 pm tickets for opening night Dec 17. Cinemark and fandango websites were crashing. I at least picked up 9:30 pm tickets. I am so stoked! I remember having to wear a wristband for one week for a chance to buy episode 1 tickets.

what the saddening events are. I've read 'Aftermath' and 'Lost Stars', but still don't have alot of answers.

Is Luke Super Powerful like Yoda? Or is the force super strong in him, but he was only kind of half trained as a force wielding ninja bad ass to take out Vader? His training was nothing like the lifetime the padawans at the Jedi Temple had back in the day.

I'm also a bit put off by the 'We heard stories...' about the Dark side, and the Jedi, etc. Its been like 60 years since the clone wars; and the Jedi played a major role in those wars. Prior to that they were active in the galaxy for 1000 generations. And 60 years later people are like 'There were stories...' like they were elves or something. That doesn't jive with me. Its like saying 'There were stories about these guys in WWI called Austro Hungarians....'

Overall though, I'm really impressed; especially since the Mouse took over. WHat happens to Kanan? Ahsoka? How do they tie into this story now? Did they die? Still out there? Who knows?

And WTF happened to the Rebel Alliance/New Republic?

Everything seems to indicate that Han Solo is talking to the female lead who was living on an outer rim planet (Jakku) that was likely very much on the outside during the Clone Wars. Watched most of the Clone Wars episodes and I don't remember Jakku ever being mentioned.

Conversely, the opening scene of this trailer appears to be her scavenging in a crashed Star Destroyer so clearly there is some knowledge of the Empire.

I don't think it's that improbable people dont fully believe in the Jedi or the force. Even Luke didn't really know much about it, Han definitely didn't believe in it. Hell, even most of the imperials were pretty dismissive of it. The Empire/dark side did a pretty good job of wiping out the Jedi and I'm sure they'd want to erase them from history as much as possible through propadanda.

He is to feature more in the 8th movie but make only a cameo on this one. I think he is missing or going all yoda in this one. Thinking that might be the story or something. Love the guessing and fighting the anticipation too. Saw the original in the theaters about 12 times when it came out. Can't wait. Hoping Harrison Ford and Fisher can still pull this off without embarrassing themselves.

I wouldn't consider myself a Star Wars fan but that trailer was intriguing. I especially liked the new villain - Darth's son? nephew? brother? I'll wait until it shows up on HBO or whatever.
