Just saw that Eddie Money passed away at age 70.  RIP money man.  He had some great tunes back in the day.

Well, he has definitely earned his ticket to paradise.....too soon?

In all seriousness, rest easy Eddie, really enjoyed back-roading in high school and listening to your music while enjoying some beverages.

Way underrated as a rock "entertainer".  Still love pulling out his Greatest Hits albums and listening to "Shakin", "Think I'm In Love", "Take Me Home Tonight" - and his concerts were a blast.

A week ago, on a whim, pulled up "Gimme Some Water" on Spotify - was really fun to hear.  The tunes always bring back some great memories from back in the day - when all you needed was a 40 ounce Mickeys, a boombox, and a good cassette.

RIP, Eddie.

Back in about 1985 I rented Eddie a car in San Francisco because of an accident (my company was like Enterprise).  Anyways apparently Eddie didn't like it cause 3 days after the rental started we called him for a deposit or something and he informed me he had never driven it and it was still where it was parked originally.  I asked where the keys were and he told me he still had them.

Long story short we got into a shouting match cause he didn't want to pay (the bill was probably around $50) and I was adamant that if you have the keys and dont notify us the car is available I can't rent it to anybody else.

My early brush with celebrity privilege.  RIP Eddie.

All depends on the type and location of the cancer. Oral sex (HPV) can cause oropharyngeal (throat) cancer. But most common cause of esophageal cancer in the USA is usually lower esophagus due to GERD, smoking, and alcohol. Based on the history and news reports, my guess is he had lower esophageal adenocarcinoma--not related to HPV and oral sex.

A friend of mine was a pilot for a small airline that served northern Michigan. Eddie Money had been "slightly over served" before he got on the plane, to the point that he had to be removed. As security was taking him off he had one of my favorite rock star lines of all time,

"You can't kick me off! I'm Eddie Money!"

RIP Eddie. Take yourself home tonight.

Saw him in a bar in Charleston, back in, I dunno, 86, 87, 88... somewhere around that time.  He was on tour with Cindy Lauper, and made the trek over from their tour stop in Atlanta.  Had a lot of good stories, but one had us rolling - he said he was happy to be in Charleston just to get a day away from Cindy, because she was a huge bitch!

I don't know if she was, but he said it and the place hit the floor laughing.  It was a great show he put on, we had a real good time!
