Same.  People should get married and have kids young.  This waiting until you're 30+ BS is new and I don't think it's going all that well for most people (or society), but that's another conversation.

When I look at my wife, I still see the person she was 25 years ago, not what she looks like now.  I think that's a handy mind trick when you're getting older.

I was 32 when I got married and had kids when I was 34 and 37. By that time, I was less intense about my career and could focus on my kids. It was the perfect time for us. We had plenty of energy to keep up with them and having a lot of maturity and life experience under our belts, a pretty healthy perspective. So I'm not sure how it's not going well for society because of people like us.

The issue for society is that when the average age of childbearing goes up, the overall birth rate usually goes down.  For a while, the age demographics of the U.S. were healthier than those of most other developed countries, but that's not so true anymore - our birth rate dropped sharply during the Great Recession and hasn't recovered.

I would have guessed Finances were 2nd behind infidelity.

EDIT: well, i had to look it up....

What is the leading cause of divorce in 2023?

Lack of Commitment Is the Common Reason for Divorce

Statistics show that the lack of commitment is the most common reason for divorce, citing 75% of individuals and couples who have ended their marriages. Surprisingly, this outweighs infidelity, which is often thought to be the leading cause

As an old guy, those are my feelings too, albeit my feelings are totally irrelevant:)  Dude is turning 21 this week!  You’d think he’s from the South getting engaged that young.

As an aside, now living in the South I’m astonished at the number of 38 year olds that casually mention they have a 20 year old child-and that they’re still married to their wife or husband.  I didn’t know shit at 18, or 21 for that matter.

As a man who has been married to the same woman since 1989 I suggest JJ strive to continually understand Godly love and Gods plan for marriage.  That example will be the most beneficial thing his children will ever see over the course of their lifetimes and the standard they will expect for themselves.

I'm a dog snob, so I feel compelled to tell you that JJ's pup is a Golden Retriever.  Although I get it - there's a name going around for 'English Retriever' because some breeders are trying to sell things.  What they're selling is a bad color variant of a Golden - Golden's should not be white.  There is also a variety of Labrador Ret called an English Lab that gets its name from the show circuit.  Generally, they are stockier in build than the 'normal' Labrador.  But again, it's just a color/size variant remains a Labrador Ret.

There is some possibility that JJ's pup is a Great Pyrenees, which is a giant white fluffball as a puppy (my now 6 yr old Pyr still answers to the nickname 'Fluffy').  But probably not.

OP's last sentence is 100% correct.  If Katya likes wearing a little black dress, forget it.  It will forever show white hair...

My dog is a mutt and went through an AWFUL adolescence. We asked our trainers when we could expect him to come out of his “afraid of everything and forgetting all his training” phase, and were told “anywhere from 2.5 to about 4, depends on what breed he gets his brain from” 🤣

My 13 year old daughter was upset when she heard this news.  She has a major crush on JJ.  For fun, she took all of the photos of JJ and his girlfriend togther and photoshopped her face into all the pictures of KK.

While I was in Indy for the 2021 B1G CCG with my children (who were freshmen at Michigan at that time) - they noticed that JJ was walking around the hotel lobbby with his girlfriend.

JJ seems so well rounded, balanced, and talented.   He's been a pleasure to watch and cheer for everyday - on and off the field.

Wishing them "nothing but the best that life has to offer."   Congratulations.

JJ was playing the long con this whole time.  His 27-1 record as a starter gave him plentiful chances to perfect the victory formation kneeldown, which culminated in his successful proposal this weekend (DO, +9, protection (hopefully but that's not our business), RPS +3)
