Aidan Hutchinson records his first career sack in the 1st quarter, taking down Carson Wentz.

There's a bit of a reunion at Ford Field with former teammates Hutchinson facing off against Benjamin St. Juste, who has 2 tackles for Wash in the first 2 Lions' drives.

we all know we have to take even this half of football with a grain of salt the size of the salt mines underneath the city of detroit, but at least for a half they have basically looked and played like an actual football team.  nice.

also, goff is a decent QB.  he isn't stafford, but he is a serviceable pro and not bad.

Saints continuing to have Brady’s number. Funny thing is New Orleans’ offense really isn’t that good, but their defense knows how to attack Brady and get in his face.

This game could legitimately end 10-3 New Orleans.

I see on my phone the score is 22-0 and turn on the TV, and the moment I turn on the TV all I see are bad passes from Goff and drops. Just typical.

Good thing the Washington Generals are pretty terrible apparently.

The Steelers have no pass rush without TJ Watt.

Mitch Trubisky is, well, bad.

How the hell did an organization pick him #2 overall and ahead of Mahomes & Watson?!

Have to admire Trubisky for wanting to give his kicker a chance to kick slightly shorter field goals. But 24 attempts, 120 total yards and an interception... we're seeing Pickett quite soon - maybe by the end of this game. So talented, but he's a great example of a guy who seems to be the perfect quarterback prospect, but the NFL game is just too fast for him.

As is inevitable when a Lions rookie plays well, Aidan hurt his leg and is clearly laboring.  Even more inevitably the Lions hold no one out for precautionary reasons which will make the injury worse until it's a long term one and they have no choice.  The Lions training staff being worst in the league is my conspiracy theory on why the franchise sucks.

The Lions are just dog shit. They will never win with WCF on their jersey.

They just miss tackles, make stupid plays, look like they lack attention to detail.

They should be killing Washington.

My Colts are awful. Happy for you Lions fans though, this is a fun team to watch already. Swift is a beast, St. Brown a steal, and Hutch falling to them will always be hilarious.

Rivera was right.  Making both PATs in the NFL is ~84.6% (92% squared) league wide.  Assuming OT is 50/50 you have to have a better than 42.3% win percentage if you go for two down 8.

NFL teams make ~49.4% of their two point tries in recent years (which is up).  So you win in regulation 45% of the time if you go for two.  If you fail (50.6%) you still have another potential two point to force OT.  Which adds about 12% to your win expectancy.

Even at the old 2 point rate of 43%, you win in regulation 39.5% of the time and in OT another 12% or so.
