Yea not a good look. Hate when parents or former players come out and talk shit. This says more about her than the coaches. If she and/or Jalen felt that way then maybe they shouldn’t have opted back in. Sour grapes at this point...

I wouldn't call her a bad parent.  But, generally the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  And, while I know nothing about Jalen, he was ready to give up and move pretty quickly himself.  He never seemed invested for what would have seemed to a supportive staff to him.  He's played early and has been developed pretty well and is getting top draft projections without having done anything special on the field.  He seems like he got quite a bit support and development, yet didn't seem to show a lot of love or loyalty to the team.

didn't he opt back in once the B1G reversed their decision to play football?

He was quick to opt out and longer to opt back in.  His first instinct was the jet.  Then after his injury he was rumored to be done with UM regardless of health.  I again don't know if any of this is true, but he's ready to bolt at the first sign of discomfort.  It's not like it would be unheard of for a guy to come back for his 4th year.  I mean he still has two years of eligibility left.  Lewan and Long came back for their senior years after being much more successful their previous years than Mayfield...they were already All Americans and came back to play for some mediocre teams.  It's not like at OSU where they expected to be in the running for a NC.

As a projected 1st rounder, opting back in shows quite a bit of love and loyalty to your team imo

He's a one-year starter and wasn't even on any of the all conference lists.  He has a lot he can still develop.  He's bolting at the first opportunity.

he was quick to opt out because there was no football. Based on the draft projections, he was looking like a first rounder; whether that remains the case, we'll see.

As for bolting at the first opportunity, I don't blame a kid if he has a first round grade...Kids leave for any number of reasons, including family financial situations...

Making judgements about 'loyalty' seem, to me, a bit of stretch if you don't actually know someone.

Mayfields position coach has a proven track record for developing his guys to play on Sunday. I can’t say I’ve never spoke out against a coach, but I can say I’ve never done it to a D1 program. Sometimes smashing that keyboard isn’t a bad thing.

Apparently Denard was in town for the Notre Dame game, and wanted to spend some time with the team in the locker room beforehand. He was basically told thanks, but no thanks by the coaching staff and ended up tailgating with some former friends.

Denard did not make a big deal about it, but clearly it bothered him according to some of the former players that knew him and were there. Some of the former players were rubbed the wrong way that Denard was not invited to meet with the team before the game.

I'm willing to listen to the reasoning but I don't really see how a coach is going to get Milton to not overthrow a receiver by 5 yards and then follow it up with skipping a pass five yards in front of the next receiver.

Joe Milton's problems are almost entirely related to his accuracy.  Far to often he doesn't even give his receivers a chance to make a play.

It’s as clear as day that they call a much different game plan when Milton is vs McNamara. Even with this inept coaching staff I would have to assume it’s the inability of him to excuse the RPOs or other plays they run with Cade rather than sandbagging him.

Gotta love social media...giving people a platform and making their commentary seem valuable when it is not and they don't deserve such a platform.  I'm just going to pretend I never heard what Jalen Mayfield's mom thinks and not use Twitter :)

Agree.  From what we’ve seen, Harbaugh did Milton a huge favor by starting him at qb when it’s obvious he wouldn’t start at any big ten school otherwise.  Although he did him a disservice by not converting him to TE or WR a long time ago.  So who knows.  Couldn’t care less what mayfields mom thinks tho.  Her son should have spent more time on the field protecting his blindside.
