To expound on my answer, Joe Milton the last few games has been getting the much shittier playcalls. We've supposed it's because they don't trust Milton to make option reads but it does set him up to have a much harder time of it. Without knowing what's going on inside I can't say exactly, but Heather is calling out what anyone who's that deep into football can see.

So is Cade though. I think there was one QB read keep all day and it was Milton getting 9 yards easily. But here's the thing. Milton can't read supposedly...neither can Cade...neither could Shea for 2 years...That all points back to the coaching staff. At this point, it doesn't matter if they're telling them not to read (terrible playcalling), haven't practiced or coached it enough (terrible coaching), or they recruited guys who are incapable of running the offense (terrible recruiting).

If the offensive "brain trust" had so little faith in Milton's abilities that they were intentionally dumbing down the playbook, then having him be the starter in the first place was a horrible decision.

Whatever is really going on behind the scenes, it's a sign of program dysfunction that any of this is happening. To say the program is not a well-oiled machine in Harbaugh's sixth season is understating things dramatically.

Meh.  You hear this kind of stuff all the time from parents in the stands at most schools.  God forbid your team gets behind in the first quarter.

I’m not speaking about Michigan here, because she may have some valid concerns.  But this is not uncommon to hear in the stands at most places so, meh.

Jalen; get your momma off of social media; she aint know shit

setting herself up to get croooooceeefied

no fan of harbaugh at this point; but Christ, Milton needs some learning up

didn't know momma was so invested; wasn't Jalen waffling to go pro about 5 or 6 times?

I love when Karens chime in; btw, is your son playing left tackle still?

I agree with her.

Haskins has great vision, a burst, and is strong as an ox. Give him the ball 25x a game (esp on 4th and inches).

Joe Milton is a terrible QB.

Hey Joe, you can throw 80 yards.

I'm sure Harbaugh told him to bounce that 15 yard pass 7 yards short.

The fact that people even defend him shows the delusion of the players & their families.

Not commenting on this tweet, as junk like this can come out. Clearly some players aren’t happy. However, clearly a locker room issue we as fans don’t know the entire story about...

1 - Mccaffrey situation. Still in school. Wouldn’t lose eligibility, still says no.

2 - Shoops not coaching but recruiting? Like what is this about. Something getting brushed over.

3 - Henning catch. Harbaugh telling guys to cheer. Ouch, bad bad look.

Clearly something has happened in the locker room that I think none of us really know exactly what. This team has no passion and no fight. They quit on this staff.

If I’m Jalen, I’m pissed at the RB carousel. That makes the offensive line look bad, in addition to the QB. I would also be pissed if they scrapped the “read” part of the RPO because they don’t trust Milton’s ability to read. That’s also holding back the offense. Maybe they are just like everyone else on this blog and are upset that we continually run guys up the middle against a stacked box.

I watched a documentary on HBO today about Poggi’s St. Frances program. It appears to me that the staff is trying to keep all the RBs happy at the expense of the team. Check the box scores. We beat MSU if we give the ball to Haskins. Instead, they’d rather have him out there on special teams. Maybe Higdon was right.

She did say in a later reply that “setup” was the key word.
I think Joe has the Shane Morris effect, strong arm, decent athlete but not a P5 quarterback. Maybe he needs to play in the all bombs offense like Shane, it seems that neither can quite get the touch stuff down. I also believe Dylan would have been much better than Shae, Joe or Cade if he could have stayed healthy.

Brown clearly says he is baffled that Haskins wasn't in for the last series but it doesn't seem likely he was objecting to the overall running back use in the game. Haskins had 17 carries (5.5 ypc), Evans had 4 carries (8.8 ypc) & 1 reception for 8 yds, Corum had 3 carries (9 ypc). That seems to be a good use of the skill sets.

But HM seems to jump from there to a claim that the running backs were intentionally used poorly because they wanted to set up Milton to fail. I can't imagine what she thinks would make the coaching staff dislike Joe so much they would be willing to wreck their own careers to wreck his.

I am baffled by what she is thinking.

Joe Milton is not a good QB.  If playing him set him up for failure, then yes, the coaching staff set him up for failure.   He didn't look good in the Bama bowl game, he didn't look good in any game this season.  Mayfield is not a first round pick.  After this he may not be a third round pick.
