OT - Max Bullough: PED User

Submitted by alum96 on

Following a long built culture since the Perles days (Hi Mandarich and friends) of MSU players "enhancing" themselves, Max "Don'tAsk , Don't Tell" Bullough got caught by the NFL for PED use.  I always get a kick with the response - which he carbon copied... "sorry to my family and fans... it is up to me to know what is in my supplements."

"it is my responsibility to know the ingredients in every supplement that I use."

Translated - no one said shit about it at MSU, sucks it counts against me here.

I have no idea about Max's "training regimen" or other issues, but Riley's ejection last year at Maryland typified 'roid rage. He was also recovering from a shoulder injury and all signs point to "recovery help."

I suspect PED use is widespread throughout upper-level college football.*

And most other sports. Competitive people, for whom there is a clear benefit, taking things to make them even more competitive, when few will ever get caught? Of course it happens. I will say this: I'm sure that some players I root/have rooted for have as well.

Most people who get caught are so identified because they made a mistake. Max isn't fooling anybody with the "supplement" excuse that is a variation on the same excuse literally everyone who doesn't just fess up uses.

*It's clearly present in mid-major college football if MSU players are doing it.

I have friend that's played at App St in the late '90s and has admitted to me that he used to get on the field. He didn't play much and told me that it was just part of playing in college, most guys used. You're naive if you think that 6'6" guys weighing 260lbs that run a 4.6 40 aren't chemically enhanced.

Back when Schlereth was in college of course. In the late 90s every college football player was taking androstenedione and other shit you could get at GNC that is all banned now. Guys I lived with at my D3 school included. As soon as their senior year season was over they chucked all those in the trash and went to just whey protein and maybe creatine. Everyone knew they were basically roids.

This thread is hilarious. MSU athletics is going down. Their football team cant recruit well enough to keep up with their rivals, and Dantonio is likely to retire after a few more bad seasons. Plus, he may not want to hang around if Captain Fingerbang Larry Nassar brings down the whole athletic dept Sandusky style.

Sorry but im in the boat that gear is widely used in the league.  They dont blood test and at max they can only test you 1x a year.  You can take a decent amount of testosteone and not have to take ancillariesor things that will show up in urine.  Just what is the legal amount of test in ones body?

Injuriess as well, I know James Andrews is a miracle worker but going from completely broken to elite in 6-9 months is a little eye opening.  IGF is basically undetectable.

That is how you take 2 and 3 star MAC level players, shove them in to a toilet bowl stadium, and produce 10 win seasons and a Rose Bowl victory after decades of being average at best in D1 football.
