Also involving two U.S. District Attorneys, has been underway for THREE YEARS. It is a certainty that the Government has a mountain of evidence against the ten individuals already charged - they'll start cutting deals; when they do, it's Katy-bar-the-door. This could lead to the restructuring of the NCAA; possibly led by the university presidents themselves, or more probably by the Congress, which will hold hearings, and which also possesses the power of the subpoena. Grab a big bowl of popcorn. This story won't be going away for years.

The dirt could no longer be swept under the rug. Prison time is now an option for these coaches - biggest basketball scandal in the last 45+ years I have been paying attention.

I always found that commitment odd in the 1st place. He was always a heavy lean to Sparty since he was Jason Richardson’s cousin, then I heard Arizona was on him tough. Then bam! Out of the blue somehow L’ville secured the commitment. That should’ve been enough to open an investigation right there.

Preet Bharara was the U. S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York until he was fired on March 11 this year.  Although he’d been told in November that he would be retained by the new administration, he was fired after he refused to follow Attorney General Sessions' demand that all remaining 46 U. S. Attorneys appointed during President Obama's administration should resign.

The Showtime series Billions is loosely based on Bharara's investigation of hedge fund manager Steven A. Cohen of SAC Capital.  It was Preet Bharara’s office that has been handling this investigation into corruption and bribery in college basketball.

You're correct, but in this case, Bharara was told in November after the election that he'd be retained. That the "scandalous activities have been ongoing for decades through various political switches" doesn't change the fact this investigation was instituted by Preet Bharara's office in 2015.

If you're interested, here's a link to the Justice Department's press release about the arrests and the allegations made in the complaints. LINK

And be careful out there!

Why should they hire a clean coach?  It's not like they regret the prior cheating.  What was their punishment for hooker parties -- some asterisks in the record book?

Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina and probably UCLA.

or, the NCAA is going to find out this is a huge giant case load they simply can't handle and will simply tell the schools to stop doing it or else.

Rehiring Bobby Petrino, Rick Pitino and Karen Sypher, and then Strippergate.  All explained away, because winning matters more than anything.  Now they are shocked, SHOCKED, at this new scandal, which cost them their beloved Pitino and his powerful enabler, Jurich.  I hope Louisville hoops gets the death penalty.
