I didn't wish ill on him. Read it again.

"just because u disagreee politically" This is either incredibly naive or disingenuous. Not everyone sees Trump severely undermining our democracy and institutions and golfing while doing nearly nothing about a pandemic as a game.

Democracy was undermined well before Trump. This idea that it wasn’t is an enormous lie. In fact, democracy has never really been tried here. Not with voter suppression or denial of a voice being de riguer for centuries. Not when both parties and numerous ideologies have engaged in political  violence.

Democracy is but an unpracticed theory.

Everyone is going to eventually contract it at some point. It's not going to go away so this post was only a matter of time.

It's telling that the first reaction of so many is "what's the angle here? how are they lying?" After 4 years of daily false statements, I can't say I blame them.

I do hope Trump recovers though, both for his young son and because it's critical that the country watches him lose the election.

Wishing everybody who has contracted the disease a complete and full recovery.

It will be interesting to watch the potential impact of the SCOTUS confirmation process.  If Trump becomes incapacitated and the 25th amendment is invoked, then Pence presumably would no longer have a tie breaking vote for the senate.

Assuming he's tested so frequently that he's asymptomatic at this point and that he has access to a level of health care far beyond the rest of us, is there much risk here? Being 74 and overweight puts him in a fairly high risk group, but there's no data I've seen related to people beginning treatment before symptoms arise or become serious enough to warrant attention.

He's done so much traveling even since the debate, and I'm guessing he gets tested daily, so is it possible he contracted this Wednesday - or does it take days to build up enough to trigger a positive test?

I do hope he and his family are OK. He's not my favorite person in the world, but I'd hate to see anyone go through this.

When I heard this news, I was reminded of an episode of "Frasier," when Niles was going to confess his love for Daphne, but Frazier didn't think it was a good idea:

Niles: "I know I don't have your full support in this, but ... how should I put this?"

Frazier: "You don't care."

Niles: "If you could work the phrase 'rat's ass' into there you'd have it."

not a fan of this President, but never a good idea to wish ill health on anyone.  Hope he has a speedy and full recovery

It’s not wishing ill health on someone. He has the virus. Wishing ill health on him would be hoping he gets the virus if he didn’t have it or wishing now that he has it he gets very sick from it. While some might be doing the latter, I think it’s more the irony of it all that people are commenting on.

Any decent human needs to pray that he and his wife, along with Ms. Hicks, recover uneventfully and completely.  I despise the man on many levels but he is a human that has children and is loved by others.  Godspeed, Mr. and Mrs.Trump and Ms. Hicks.

Indeed....we all need to hope they will make it thru ok even if we despise them.  Thanks for reminding us.

But what infuriates me right now is what this "president" has done to me.  My immediate reaction should have been one of concern, empathy, fear.  It sadly wasn't.

Instead my first reaction was to wonder if this was another of his lies.  Or what his angle might be to benefit himself.  Or if he's somehow trying to influence the election because he knows he's losing.  I hate that his constant dishonesty and overall behavior has affected me this way.  There have been plenty of presidents I didn't like or political actions I didn't agree with.  But for him to have altered my ability to trust or empathize the man leading our country???

I do wish him a very speedy recovery.  I want him to be healthy on November 3rd when the votes come in.

I never thought I could get an erection watching the news, but here we are.

I hope he gets horribly sick and then makes a fully recovery.

I’m hearing from a lot of people that it’s time to bring back This Week in Schadenfreude. A lot of people are saying that.

I, unlike many of his supporters, don't believe in conspiracy theories.  But there are plenty flying around right now to choose from.  My favorite so far is this....

He knows he is going to lose big time in the election and he never can lose or show weakness at all.  That would think his fake image as a tough guy.  So if he gets sick and has to bow out of the election, Biden wins without beating Trump.  He can go on saying he would have won but only lost because his doctors made him drop out.

Here we are 2020.....thanks a lot.

I can't say that I want him to die from this, I don't.  Part of the reason is that he is still a person that has family (as despicable as they may be).  Part of the reason is that I don't believe he deserves the state funeral he'd get.  Although I guess he'll get one, anyway, at some point...

I do hope he suffers from it in a karmatic way.  I want his sheep to understand it's a real thing, it's not a hoax.  I want them to know that >7M people have this, and that >200,000 have died from it.  I want them to know that science is a real thing; it has tangible benefits; it has real affect.  Praying the Covid away is not a real thing; it has no tangible results; it has no real affect.

Part of me remains cynical, though, believing this news to be fake.  Nothing more than another lie to boost his re-election hopes.

I’m reading fake news, planned strategy, boost re-election hopes, etc and I just don’t get it. This hurts him ... badly. Just having to admit he has the virus that he has downplayed since the beginning is devastating to him politically. Not that there are many people on the fence at this point, but this is flat out embarrassing, dare I say emasculating,  for him. The macho non mask wearing approach turns out not to have been the best idea.

After seeing what his irresponsible handling of a pandemic has done, I’m going to send him so many thoughts and prayers.

May he have the worst next 5 weeks of his life.
