OT: Bru McCoy double transfer

Submitted by MgoFunk on May 27th, 2019 at 11:27 AM

Twitter reports are that after transferring from USC to Texas after being on campus as an early enrollee for like a week, he is transferring back to USC.  Obviously everyone is making fun of the schools but my question is does he become immediately eligible since he is transferring back to the school where he signed his original LOI?

To answer the OP's question. I don't think he will be immediately eligible at USC because he attended classes at Texas.

He would likely win his appeal for immediate eligibility at Texas, due to the OC and WR coach leaving soon after he signed. I don't see what grounds he has for an appeal after going back to USC. Maybe his best argument is that the NCAA moved too slowly in granting his appeal and this move will speed them up.

The careers of coaches that earn $5M+ every year hinge in large part on the whims of 18yos like this kid.  Unreal.

Being a big time college recruit is probably really hard. I hope this kid has some guidance in his life, because this looks like a mess from the outside.

Of course not. These are kids who have to deal with scumbags like Meyer, and often times their families view them as nothing more than a meal ticket.

I’m sure it fucking sucks for a bunch of them, and the vast majority end up never even sniffing the nfl. All while ruining their bodies with steroids and injuries.

Honestly I bet billionaires and supermodels have a much harder life mentally and emotionally than most financially secure middle class folks. Everyone trying to use you for your money or looks, trying to ride your coattails. No thanks.

So, I don't personally know any supermodels or billionaires, but I have been acquainted with a couple of non-famous models and super-rich types (one of whom is an uncle), and there really is a much bigger downside than people think.

The women I know who modeled both independently said that (1) models are, by far, the most insecure people in the world when it comes to looks, because gaining literally 3 pounds can kill their job prospects, and (2) it's surprisingly socially isolating.

The uncle is a low 9-figure net worth guy, and his life is not great. His marriage is terrible: he owns huge empty houses all over the world he and my aunt are rarely in the same city. When they are, I don't think they sleep in the same bed. He doesn't have much interaction with his entitled, lazy kids other than sending them checks. He mistrusts everyone because he assumes they're just after his money. It's an isolating world insulated 10-feet thick with dollars on all sides.

Would I like to be that rich or good looking? Sure. Would I want to swap my good life for that these folks describe? Hells no. Fun to daydream about, but money and looks aren't a route to peace of mind. That's hard to believe until you see it.

You’d be surprised. There’s a reason they say that all the money in the world can’t buy you happiness.

How many many millionaires/billionaires have lazy, entitled, POS kids who were brought up never having to learn how to earn money? How many have “friends and family” coming out of the woodworks telling them “hey remember that time way back when where I did that favor for you? Well, I need 100k, and don’t turn your back on where you came from.” How many have shitty marriages marred by spite, distrust, and cheating?

Not saying they’re all that way, but money can cause a lot of problems. You'd be very surprised at how many of the world’s wealthiest, most successful people feel depressed and alone. Look at Robin Williams....

If he’s worried about immediate eligibility, he should just transfer to OSU. We all know the NCAA wouldn’t let anything bad happen to the Buckeyes.

He's originally from SoCal so maybe he realized he didn't want to sweat his balls off in TX?

It's sounds like USC released him from his NLI, so he more than likely would have played immediately at Texas.

I would expect he'd now have to sit out a year, but who knows with the way the NCAA has been recently.  Although, the Twitter report says that he "may" transfer back and that it hasn't been confirmed.

Applying Occam's Razor, it feels like the kid got homesick.  Going back to USC feels a little bit weird, but I just think some people need to be home.  And this kid is unlucky enough to have this play out publicly.  USC is a total shitshow right now and I don't blame anyone for pulling whatever lever they can to get away from there.  His issue is he went to Austin and realized it wasn't SoCal.  Some people can deal with it, some can't, I don't know that this is a character issue.

We keep forgetting that we're dealing with 17-18 year olds who may be leaving home for the first time unsupervised.  Homesickness is nothing I ever had to deal with, but I've seen it plenty and for some people it can be really debilitating.

Sometimes you need to make a choice then do everything in your your power to ensure that choices success...indecision has been at the root of many failures.
