ONE Bold Prediction for 2015?

Submitted by jonesie022 on
With the new era being ushered in and good times ahead, I thought I would gauge the pulse of the UM fan base in terms of this upcoming season. What is one "out of the box" or bold prediction you have? I'll get it started: The starting QB for this upcoming fall is NOT currently on the UM roster. You?

That was a game we won just by showing up 7 or 8 out of 10 years for a long time. We have not adapted to the combo of hate and competence Dantonio has brought. The good news, such as it is, is that beating Sdaee means something now (developing third MSU embarrassment of the season notwithstanding).

Michigan's LB's, CB's, and safeties rarely rotate, either in-game or through the season.  Better results lead to retroactive anger at Mattison, as well as Hoke for not knowing what the hell he was doing (somewhat justified on this issue, but over the top).

That some unexpected names decide to transfer or quit the team when they get a look at what will be demanded of them under Harbaugh vs what was tolerated under Hoke.

We will not hear Hoke incessantly talk about the kids, the kids, the kids
Harbaugh will coach them to be the men, the men, the men
That is all I hope for next year

by going 7-1 in conference play and winning the tie-breaker to advance to the B1G Championship Game.  Michigan easily wins the B1G CCG against an overmatched B1G West opponent.

It's more than one bold prediction, it's ten, but I'm going to predict that

1.) Kevin Hogan transfers to Michigan and starts. Ends up throwing for 32 TDs against 8 Ints.

2.) Michigan goes 9-3, playing in the Outback Bowl against Georgia or SCar. I think we beat either OSU or MSU, and lose to the other, lose @ Utah, and @ either Minnesota or PSU.

3.) In the 2016 recruiting class, we land 3 5* recruits (pick three out of Gary, Walker, L. Taylor, Bredeson, Eichenberg, Patterson).

4.) I think we lose DeWeaver, I think he flips to Louisville or MSU or somewhere (I don't have any evidence for this, just making a bold prediction), however, we land either Shea Patterson or KJ Costello to replace him.

5.) Ty Isaac, Derrick Green, Drake Johnson combine for over 2,000 yards rushing.

6.) Our breakout player on offense is WR Maurice Ways, as in Funchess absence, he takes over in a role that Funchess could have done (if he could catch consistently) that is as a big, strong WR who can go up over people for the bowl.

7.) On defense, we have the best pass defense in the conference, with Lewis and Peppers starting (Countess plays as a Nickelback).

8.) As to the rest of the conference, OSU once again makes it back to the CFB, Sparty sees a decline, UM finishes 2nd in the East, and Minnesota wins the West, but falls to OSU in the B1G Championship.

9.) Purdue and Illinois fire their HC's following the season.

10.) We see the beginning of a Ten Year War Rd. 2 between Harbaugh and Meyer emerge, coming right as the SEC begins to fade out of the spotlight, and ESPN soon comes to love the B1G...okay just kidding about that last part.

Harbaugh works the kinks out by MSU, and despite 1 or 2 early losses, team becomes a buzzsaw by the middle of the season. We beat MSU and OSU at home and go to the B1G Championship Game, where we clobber surprise winner of the West, Minnesota.

No CFP invitation due to early season loss or losses, but we get a good bowl game that we win.
