ONE Bold Prediction for 2015?

Submitted by jonesie022 on
With the new era being ushered in and good times ahead, I thought I would gauge the pulse of the UM fan base in terms of this upcoming season. What is one "out of the box" or bold prediction you have? I'll get it started: The starting QB for this upcoming fall is NOT currently on the UM roster. You?

My bold prediction...jabril peppers will be re-evaluated and coach will move him to offense to be a slot/ HB weapon. He would instantly be the best offensive weapon on our team and then precedes to make big plays after big plays. He is so fucking dynamic with the ball. As a staff, how do you not try to get this guy at least 20 touches a game either through punt returns, kickoffs, jet sweeps, passing game, or wildcat formation. Every year there are a few recruits that come out and you know they will be absolute studs that will be playing on sundays such as, Julio Jones, or clowney, watkins, ha ha clinton dix, or furnette. Even without playing one down in college, just by watching their high school films, you just know they are a cut above the rest and not even an underperforming coach could screw it up. I get that vibe from peppers. He gonna burst onto this season and make a huge mark.

But that's not the same thing as calling him overrated; that's just a pessimistic prediction, not necessarily a criticism of Harbaugh per se.

The downside of all the mindless, over-the-top Harbaugh idolatry around here is that the expectations of many fans are going to be ridiculous, and people who are irrationally optimistic tend to turn on a dime at the first hint of disappointment and become irrationally negative.

I see the pessimistic predictions and the inevitable calls of "overrated" by our own fans as a continuum. I think next season will have highs and lows. We will win games we have no business winning - OSU, MSU, or even Utah away in game one - but drop games we should have won. People will inevitably write that those losses are "on the coaches." Maybe they'll be right, maybe not. But I predict some ugly meltdowns on this site.

Yes I do, but I think there will be some growing pains the first year or two. I'd guess 8-4 for 2015 is in the neighborhood of where we'll end up. We'll look shaky at the start but finish well.

One thing is certain: when other teams take a cheap shot at our QB—and they will—our team won't stand around on the field like they don't care.

With all due respect to Hoke, it's going to be so refreshing to have an in-game coach who is engaged and completely in control of everything going on around him.

I see 8-4 as a baseline but 10 or even 11 wins if one of our QBs sees the light.

I, for one, think Morris has a chance to be special with Harbaugh's tutelage combined with his natural ability. (A la Kaepernick)

I do not think Michigan will be have that bad of a record (I think they will win most of the games) but it will be QB competition (by committee) until one stands out during the game...

On a side note I made coach harbaugh the head coach in EA sports NCAA football 2014 right after the bowl loss to Kansas state, which is almost to the one year mark of his actual arrival. So I just simmed every game and the crystal ball is telling me 15-0...book it! My source is the Xbox. I was in a very heavy state of Michigan football depression and could not cope with real football so I found solace in the video game, I have issues...

Will be the breakout player in college football. He will be used sparingly, but with shocking effectiveness, on offense. His performance will remind many fans of Woodson's breakout in '96 and he will be an early favorite for Heisman in 2016.

If drake can become a starting WR this offseason he deserves a Nobel award. Chronic hamstring injuries are bad and he is about 25 pounds underweight. He has crazy potential and would do so much for our offense, but the kid looks doomed to a life of injuries.

The players will all go through a period of being shell-shocked over the 180 degree differences between Harbaugh and Hoke. But they will all rise to the occasion and by mid-season, be functioning like a well-oiled machine.

Michigan will not punt with only 10 men on the field and will never go 27 for 27. I fully expect to beat all the teams we should and pull off at least, AT LEAST, one that we shouldn't.

...'even Hoke' was close 2 years ago with DG on a broken foot and the talent gap is not nearly as large compared to Stanford beating USC in the Coliseum. (Harbaugh's first year at Stanford) I'm confident this will happen whomever the QB is and whatever M's record is going into the game.

A coach with as much success as JH and with his fiery nature is not going to let Meyer walk into Ann Arbor and leave with a victory.

After a tough year in the B1G and a successful appearance in the NIT, people complain loudly that Beilein can't land the big time recruits. Nobody sillier than impatient fans!

Based on my conversations with student-athletes on campus, Wilton is the real deal. Shane has been showing us since since HS that he is nothing more than a "prospect" with an arm. Look for Speight to have a breakout year, breakout RS freshman quaterbackes are the new norm in college football anyway.

Give the kid a shot with the new Coaching staff. I also would like to see what they do with Bellomy; this team, I honestly believe, is just going to be so run heavy with the Issac's, Green's, Smith's, and Johnson's on the team. There's no way this O-line doesn't move the ball at will w/ the Harbaugh at the helm

Michigan beats everyone 75-0 cruising through the playoffs, which earns them an invite to the NFL playoffs, Harbaugh gets his super bowl, and we get our NC

Hiring Harbaugh will show immediate returns.

1. He pulls together a solid recruiting class. Some signing day snake oil would not be surprising. He gone get guys to want to play for him.

2. He gets Shane Morris back on track.

3. Win total improves. I can't see this roster + Harbaugh regressing from 5-7. We'll play in a bowl next year.

4. He beats either MSU or OSU. Hoke never got flat-out stomped by the Bucks, so there's that. Harbaugh's teams will be much more intense in the rivalry games. He will match Dantonio manicial focus for maniacal focus. More than anything, I want to see us beat State (Sdaee?) in Year One. That would be mf'in delicious, and signal an immediate sea change in the rivalry.

Good gawd, if we beat Sdaee this year, that fanbase will get sucked into their insecurity like it was a black hole.
