Nico Collins with strong words of support for Jim Harbaugh
"If you think he’s not the right coach, you’re wrong," Collins said. "He’s a great coach. He’s a coach that played in the NFL, coached in the NFL, and knows exactly how to coach his players. If you want a great team to go to and a great coach to be coached by, go to the University of Michigan

I'm torn...who do I believe? Nico or Team Campbell on mgoblog?
February 10th, 2021 at 3:47 PM ^
The guy who is willingly not playing for said great coach or the people who think it should be possible for The University of Michigan to lose less than three games a year occasionally? You're right, it's a tough call.
February 10th, 2021 at 3:58 PM ^
Quite a stretch to suggest that his decision to not play during the pandemic is somehow an indictment on Nico's credibility on Harbaugh's abilities as a coach.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:03 PM ^
Really? Its a stretch to believe playing for a "great" coach might be better than not playing at all?
February 10th, 2021 at 4:06 PM ^
It is almost like you ignored the pandemic part because it didn't fit your narrative.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
What did I ignore? Lots of players managed to play during the pandemic.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:37 PM ^
And lots of players didn’t, meaning it has nothing to do with support for the coach and everything to do with, you know, what’s best for the individual
February 10th, 2021 at 5:02 PM ^
Seems to me like less players opted out for the good teams. Maybe it's just a coincidence.
February 10th, 2021 at 5:45 PM ^
Seems to me many coaches on sole of these “good” teams care more about their own personal success than the welfare of their players.
February 11th, 2021 at 8:17 AM ^
So that means Howard doesn't care about the players on his basketball team?
February 10th, 2021 at 5:38 PM ^
Is it possible that Nico thinks Harbaugh is a great coach and also wanted to sit out the season because he was worried about getting coronavirus?
February 10th, 2021 at 5:54 PM ^
You shit your dirty little whore mouth mr.03. That m was not capitalized for a reason!
February 10th, 2021 at 6:03 PM ^
*correction is either “in” or “shut”. ?. Take your pick. I’m an idiot. ?
February 10th, 2021 at 7:09 PM ^
I have a kid who is a college athlete and who got Covid in his off-season. Once he was free of symptoms, he had to go through a cardiac protocol of expensive testing (not covered by our insurance, btw) because doctors have seen a higher incidence of myocarditis among athletes. I'm not trying to open that can of myocarditis worms again, but if the doctors that we spoke to think there is a higher incidence of myocarditis in athletes than in non-athletes, I'm going with their educated opinion. If a kid doesn't want to take that risk, who's to question that?
February 10th, 2021 at 7:20 PM ^
"If a kid doesn't want to take that risk, who's to question that?"
Mouthbreathing idiots on message boards, apparently. These dumb chuds are doing their best to turn this place into a Maize & Blue themed RCMB

"Poor Reasoning Ability" & "Entitled Asshole": one of the worst combinations of personality traits a person can have.
Both the forum & fandom are worse for your presence.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:26 PM ^
Is this "Both the forum & fandom are worse for your presence." your example of this "Poor Reasoning Ability" & Entitled Asshole"?
February 10th, 2021 at 4:54 PM ^
“You’re so used to being negative I swear you have to be Maizen’s doppelgänger!”
February 10th, 2021 at 5:30 PM ^
He literally said in an interview he was going to play and when the big ten dragged their feet for fucking weeks after their initial decision, nico had to focus on his future.
Not his problem the big ten fucked up a lot of these kids decisions

Stretch Armstrong > ShakeWeight
February 10th, 2021 at 11:42 PM ^
No way...
Stretch Armstrong doesn't rebound as quickly as the Shake Weight does.
Shake Weight FTW -- you get more tugs in per unit of time with Shake Weight than with Stretch Armstrong.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:03 PM ^
He came back for his senior year. He only opted out after the B1G cancelled the season.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:04 PM ^
I too would like to forget it but the B1G played football this season.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
Yep, but by the time they announced they were going to play he had already signed with an agent.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:15 PM ^
That didn't stop anyone from playing, well other than one apparently.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:19 PM ^
Yup, one person in the whole of college football did not play this past season, you are right...
February 10th, 2021 at 4:23 PM ^
"signed with an agent."
February 10th, 2021 at 4:25 PM ^
Can you STFU forever please? You're even dumber than the typical buckeye fan.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:28 PM ^
I have the ability to have a conversation with someone I disagree with without crying, stomping my feet, and calling people poopy heads. I may be wrong but at least I'm not a child.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:41 PM ^
But you're not only wrong, you're wrong in a way that is putting down a distinguished student athlete for sitting down with their family and making a difficult personal and career choice in the face of many unknowns.
So, as previously stated, STFU forever. The board & fandom will be better off without your stupid flaming Hot takes*.
[*] I recently read the definition that a hot take is a "piece of deliberately provocative commentary that is based almost entirely on shallow moralizing", which is a nearly perfect encapsulation of the reason that you need to STFU forever. Your reasoning ability is bad and you suck at the very basics of being a person.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:46 PM ^
Show me where I put down Nico.
"you suck at the very basics of being a person." LOL, yes, I'd be a much better person if I cursed at people to shut up and called them names. Please teach me hero.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:51 PM ^
Also "The board & fandom will be better off without your stupid flaming Hot takes*."
Neither of those are true, nobody would even know. Maybe toughen up a bit buttercup.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:44 PM ^
"Username checks out": not sure now if that's a statement or a request.
February 10th, 2021 at 4:48 PM ^
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's a request?
February 10th, 2021 at 4:26 PM ^
And Ambry Thomas, Josh Jackson (MD QB), Micah Parsons (PSU LB), Rashod Bateman (MN WR - opted out, then in, then out again)...

February 10th, 2021 at 5:02 PM ^
Several defensive players who get paid to play opted out of playing for the best coach in NFL history at a level that featured exactly zero cancelled games.
But keep going, you'll find a solvent point eventually....maybe
February 10th, 2021 at 5:19 PM ^
The coach that finished under .500 this year? Hmm.

When a former player who might have ample reason to be angry or disappointed with how he was underutilized in his college career praises his former head coach, the reaction of normal people is to be happy, if even a bit surprised, and leave it at that.
Perpetually miserable people have a compulsion to play a different role on a message board.

All naysayers+team Campbell=Penultimate
Everyones a professional until,”they’re not!”
February 10th, 2021 at 7:07 PM ^
Absolutely hilarious! Hmmm...lets see Team Campbell or Nico.
February 10th, 2021 at 7:32 PM ^
If I recall correctly, someone around these parts used to keep track of all-time neg-bangs in a single thread. Is it possible username03 is coming close to the title in this one? Or after the year we have just been through, the record was put well out of reach and today's thread is just a minor blip compared to some of those?
February 11th, 2021 at 12:11 PM ^
As one of the old-timers here I've witnessed most of the legendary neg-bangs, and I think the one in this thread would be pretty small by comparison. I am curious about the all-time records, though.
February 10th, 2021 at 3:42 PM ^
Interesting comments no doubt. Collins is at the point where he has no incentive to talk nice about Harbaugh, so you don't have to take these comments with a grain of salt.
February 10th, 2021 at 5:01 PM ^
Maybe a tiny grain of salt: despite occasional practice hereabouts, not everyone feels compelled to trash people they disagree with. It's called being polite.
Howevah, I agree with your implication, that Collins' comment seems genuine, and not simply politeness.
February 10th, 2021 at 7:52 PM ^
Isn't the rumor that one of the reasons DPJ fell to the 6th round was that he trashed Harbaugh in the pre-draft interviews. I'm saying that Nico isn't being genuine, but it might have played a small part in feeling the need to say anything.
February 10th, 2021 at 9:30 PM ^
There was a lot of chatter about Nico and DPJ clashing a bit, with DPJ's ego making him more outspoken (this is all super unverified so take with a HUGE grain of salt). So they could legit just have different opinions since they are different people
February 10th, 2021 at 3:42 PM ^
He’s right. That was nice of Nico to say that. I think this team has potential next year. We need a starting caliber transfer LBer and maybe a corner and I think we’ll surprise a lot of people.
February 10th, 2021 at 3:43 PM ^
But what does he think of Nua?......
